» Leeds Utd (A): Matty D's Match Report |
|

|
Roared on by a passionate travelling support Brentford earned a draw at Elland Road, as Jermaine Beckford’s late strike cancelled out a close-range effort from Ben Strevens.
Scott chose to experiment with the Bees’ right flank, positioning Phillips at full-back and the left-footed Wood at right wing. Tommy Smith was judged fit to start despite his long journey back from California in midweek, and Strevens was given a chance up front alongside MacDonald.
Szczesny had to be alert to turn away an early Snodgrass free kick, as United started well. O’Connor and Diagouraga were doing a good job in the centre of the pitch, but the Bees lacked a cutting edge up front. However they did work one opening,... [Read More]

Andy Scott Quotes:
“It was a good experience. You never know what to expect from your team and it was a new experience for them. I always had confidence that when we have played games at these places so far we have adapted very well and acquitted ourselves admirably and we did the same today.
Mark is a good centre half who played well at Walsall. Dicko was fit and Tommy Smith was fine after playing 90 minutes in Pasadena on Wednesday. So it is something we have been looking at in training over the last couple of months, knowing that we don’t have much cover for that position [right back]. I just felt it was an ideal game for Mark and put Sam on the right hand side for a bit of protection for him. We knew we... [Read More]

Teams: Leeds United v Brentford
Time: 3PM kick off
Place: Elland Road, Leeds
When Brentford got relegated back in 2007 to League 2, Leeds were relegated into League 1, and many fans were wondering how we missed the opportunity of going to Elland Road.
Now, 3 years on, we have the opportunity as they have failed to get back to the Championship on 2 attempts.
This season, they started very well, and prior to the Manchester United FA Cup tie back in January, were 8 points clear of League 1. They now sit in 2nd place, and trail Norwich City by 5 points - but they have a game in hand.
Back in December, Brentford hosted Leeds for the first time since 1953. Back... [Read More]

Teams: Brentford v Tranmere Rovers
Kick off: 3pm
Venue: Griffin Park
Following the postponement of the Colchester game on Tuesday, our next game now is against Tranmere who have seemed to turn things around when Les Parry got the job full time - this he got 10 days after the 1-0 win against Brentford earlier this season.
Last season, Tranmere Rovers finished 7th, cruelly missing out on the play-offs to S****horpe United, who won them, beating MK Dons and... [Read More]
