View Full Version : Groups Drawn
Leicester Bee
21st May 2003, 17:06
The groups were drawn for 7th June tourney at Raynes Park:
Group A:
Hey Jude
QPR ASB
Fulham
Intergills
Group B:
Beesotted
QPR Net
AFC Wimbledon
Gills Connect
I reckon we got the easier of the two groups, for sure. Bring 'em all on!
For all players though, I will be expecting some help from you guys, to help out with organisation, etc, on the day. It looks like the only thing I have to worry about is running around finding out results from various people. Rest of the day should go well. I don't think I've left a stone unturned.

I've also heard a viscious rumour today on the Hey Jude rumour mill that our chairman and manager are both ringers! Despite there very well organised attempts to pretend to go to most Brentford games and support the club through thick and thin I've heard they both support QPR! I know I find it hard to believe too but they are the ultimate ringers in Hey Jude's crimes against Beesotted! ;) :D
I wish these people had more dignity!!!

Having been involved in the last defeat of your mob, I'm interested in your accusations. Who are the ringers? Who was the fella wearing an Arsenal top on your side?;)

Fella in Arsenal Shirt was our Head Coach, and there are no accusations of ringers in the slightest. The only accusations that could be made, are the regularity with which some of your better players turn out for you. Having said that, that's your prerogative, and not ours. Why our players are in the slightest bit interested with this issue is beyond me. We are Beesotted, we do things differently to Hey Jude, and that's that. We're all Brentford.

Thanks for setting this straight Dan.
All our players are Hey Jude regulars and Brentford fans some of whom play a very high standard of football.
This means that for some games we have a weaker team out than for others. During the Summer months we are able to call upon these players more regularly and can therefore put out a stronger team. We aren't trying to be a Sunday side, we just want to represent Brentford and do so with pride and dignity. These spats are infuriating and slightly tiresome
Middx Bee our goalkeeper is Whitton Borders Bee, apology accepted.
And Jonno, :nono: I go to every game, not some, cheek!! ;)

Exactly. They're not even spats. There's no competition between the two clubs, because we are two entirely different entities. Beesotted are looking at Sunday League football for next season, we get together every week, and there are plenty of other things that we do differently, but NOT better. We are different, and that is that.
We should be proud that Brentford can have two supporters teams that can cater for many types of players, i.e. part-time, young, old, those who want to take it that bit more seriously, those that want to train, those that just want to take it easy, etc, etc.
If Hey Jude ever need players, then they only have to ask. If we are struggling, as we have done in the past, then we only have to ask Hey Jude, to see if we can borrow one or two players. In fact, we have used no less than 4 Hey Jude players over the last year.
I know we can joke about rivalry, but that's as far as it goes. Chris Wickham, Paul Stedman, myself and Jan (plus others) put so much hard work into making our respective teams happen, and be successful. Knowing Chris and Paul, I have nothing other than respect for them, and I enjoy an excellent relationship with them too. If players start spouting off at each other, then it undermines so much of what we are trying to do.
All Beesotted players should take heed of this, and think of the bigger picture.
I thank you.

As a Bee of 28 years, I accept your apology.
The comment re the guy in the Arsenal shirt was merely mischevious and not intended to stir anything serious up!!
