Just been into the Ladbrokes under my office to place a bet on who i think will win their respective Divisions, and was amased to see that we are 50/1 to win the league.
Now this might not seem this bad but it infact means that apart from Chesterfield and Port Vale, every other team in the league has better odds than us!
Which means they must think were favourites for relegation.
Surley not??

Aye... they give us Bob Hope for the title :nono: I think Wally should display the odds on the wall to fire up our boys  ....having said that SOME of those YTS lads may have a bet on it on their way back from McD's  lol

I think 50/1 is far too generous!!!!...nah only kidding!!!
Surely we can't be in that bad an estimation from the bookies at the moment or can we?????
Elsewhere in Div 3 Yeovil and Huddersfield both generously placed at 10/1-well worth a punt each way.

Same price as was on offer 2001/2 when we missed out by 12 minutes.
The pre-season odds are based entirely on last seasons finish position (bottom of div 1 is better than 4th or 5th in Div 2) and influx of new money or players.
With the players we have - if they play to their strengths and go for it, 50/1 is great value. If we start getting on their backs and they come out with an attitude of trying not to make mistakes and no more, we will struggle in the bottom half all season.
At this level everything is about confidence and the more we do on this board to destroy that fragile commodity, the more likely the doom merchants are to be proven right.

50/1 isn't really a surprise given the fact we finished poorly last season and have had more players leave than arrive at GP over the Summer.
It might turn out to be too generous though.
