Just a suggestion but would it possible to get Jam tribute band The Jamm to put in performance in theh future? I'm not sure what their fee would be and I haven't seen them myself but from what I've heard they put on a quality show and often tour with Who's Who, a tribute band to, er.....

I am aware of the Jamm and they get good reviews. I think they are little on the pricey side though.
I think I will try Buster first and then investigate the Jamm. It`s all about economics really.
The most revenue to save BFC wins.
We could of course do both.;)

I've seen The Jamm a couple of times (with Who's Who) and they are pretty good but as Bish says (with no disrespect to Stripes intended) maybe thay are a bit too pricey for Stripes. They usually sell out anyway.
Who's Who might be an option. They seem to be going through a bit of a rough patch at the moment with quite a few line up changes but if they can get that sorted they do tend to play smaller venues quite a bit. eg The Boom Boom Club at Sutton United.

This is not an event, purely a discussion as to whether I should continue to investigate bringing Bad Manners to BFC. This at present has nothing to do with Bias or BU activities, as I am working alone.
Thankyou.
Please stop trying to be so reasonable Bish, final warning mate:nono:

Recently looked into The Jamm and was advised via an agent that a fee of @£1500 was the norm. (Possible security costs etc on top).
Other consideration was the amount of London gigs they do. Clearly we wouldn`t want them the week before/after they played at, say, Putney. A look at their immediate itinerary showed that they are plaing sporadically in London, so we put the idea on hold.
Interesting to see that they are playing in Putney tomorrow (£9 adm). If we were to charge £9 we would definitely need to sell out to make it viable, so there is some risk there. If we could negotiate a slightly better price to reduce risk I dont see why we shouldn`t look at it closely.
The Thin Lizzy tribute band are supposed to be very good too, def one to look into.
Mikey - am making enquiries re The Hamsters
All suggestions and input gratefully received.

Buster was a good Pal of my Manager when I was a DJ at The Cricketers in Chertsey,
Bad Manners played in the back room and the place was sold out (only 160 capacity) in about two minutes..
I reckon you'd sell out at £15 a time for Stripes..
Good Value band, I'd be there!!

Well worth a shout. Went to see them with a few other Bees on the 21 ann. tour of 'Live and Dangerous'. Quality, note perfect. Used to play the white horse in Kingston, so the stripes is a definate step up!!!

A super-group of global proportions is born…
By 1979, the Bad Manners spectacle was created and there was a firm following for the band in North and East London's venues. Fronted by the enormous and outrageous BUSTER BLOODVESSEL this nine-piece musical mini-orchestra took the scene by storm with a diet of luscious and endearing lunacy that is still kicking today, except today they are recognised and welcomed across continents, oceans and especially Finland. Their early forays into the pubs and clubs created a cult live following that enabled them to be signed by Magnet Records for an 'undisclosed' sum of money without even recording a demo tape. They had succeeded in creating a unique blend of SKA, jump blues and boogie known as Ska'N'B which became the name of their first album in 1980.
Between 1980 and 1983, they spent 111 weeks in the pop charts and had 15 hit singles. Their time in the charts exceeded that of Little Richard, Fats Domino, The Moody Blues, Culture Club and Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
Hits included Ne-Ne-Na-Na-Na-Na-Nu-Nu, Lip Up Fatty, Special Brew, Lorraine, Just a Feeling, Can-Can and Walking in the Sunshine to name but a few. Each was accompanied by outrageous appearances on Top of the Pops that endeared Buster and his chums to the great British public.
The band were always far more than a simple charting prospect however as anyone who has seen them live will know. They are an unbelievable live act with a cult status that transcends anything the less charitable critic might dare to write. A world of trick and treat, pinhead and skinhead, circus and freakshow all combined with honest vulgarity.1000% enthusiasm is matched by 1000% proficiency every time! By the time the band gets into its live strides, the audience will be covered in water and other fluids, various inflatables and body sweat. Yes sirree, the band know how to manner their fans badly…

I thought the thread bad manners at bfc was about hants "Mr creosote" in my pants's predilection to vomit everywhere without covering his mouth

My guess is you could charge a little more than £10 a ticket for the gig (unless the bands fee is tied in to the price being no more than £10). If you charged £12 a ticket I still think you'd sell out and it would raise another £450 for BU given the capacity above is correct.

Staines Bee - Thanks.
I need to get Busters number off Tony Class (who unfortunately is in hospital), I will then try and knock down the fee.
£2000 is a big risk.

Tony Class will be contacting Buster next week in the hope of vastly reducing the fee down to the £1000 - 1200 figure.

Staines - Tony Class has a left a message for Buster to ring him. I have to get to Buster directly and not via his management.
