View Full Version : WorldNet 2004

Hi all.

It is that time of year when the plans for WorldNet have to be drawn up.

After discusions it has been decided that Brentford will enter two teams this year. These will be drawn from everyone who play for Hey Jude and Beesotted. Anyone who represents a Brentford supporters team will get the chance to go to Leeds and play at WorldNet.
It is hoped that this way we will get 35 or so players, which will make up two reasonable squads and make sure we don't end up with what happened last year.
We had too few players for teh teams we had and also were left out of pocket due to a lack of numbers. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN THIS YEAR.

I am implementing a rough timescale for the WorldNet preparations.

In the next 3 weeks I will be collecting deposits of £20 per person, this will ensure your place and will pay our entry fees.

We will have a full list of names by the new year and can then attempt to ensure we have enough names for two squads. At this point we will re-assess the numbers and names and attempt to collect teh rest of teh money.

The full balance for WorldNet this year will be £80, this included match fees, accomodation, and all other things that we will provide, drinks, first aid kits, extra balls etc.
The surplus will go towards any further costs that may be incurred by Hey Jude over the weekend, ie the £350 bill we had to pay for broken windows this year.

I hope this is ok for everyone, if finances are a problem I can collect the money on a month by month basis or work out another system, just ask.

So the first thing is to start collecting deposits. I would like to do this as soon as possible and would like all deposits paid by November 22. You can either hand me the money at any Brentford game, or Dulwich V Hey Jude this Saturday. Alternatively you can send it to me.
Along with this deposit I would like people to give me up to date contact details, e-mail address and (if possible) a phone number. This will help me next Summer when the real organisation sets in. Please write this down for me and enclose it in an envelope, so i don't lose it.
I would prefer it in a cheque, made payable to Chris Wickham, although i will also accept cash provided it is in an envelope.

If you wnat to send me a cheque, please send it to 17 Burnham Way, Ealing, London, W13 9YE.

If anyone has any questions please contact me chrisheyjude@hotmail.com or on 07736284322.

Thanks
Chris Wickham

P.S. as always this isn't a closed shop if you have any friends who might be interested please also include them, we are always looking to add numbers to the Brentford supporters squads.
P.P.S. can you forward this to anyone who doesn't have e-mail access (Dan O'Brien, Josh, Joe, Adrian)
P.P.P.S. A non-playing person will only play £60 for the weekend rather tahn the £80 quoted above, if a partner shares the room (and doesn't have breakfast) they will probably be able to go for nothing, provided they don't play!!!!!!
