View Full Version : Free Ticket Amnesty

Here's a radical idea which could net the club thousands over the coming months.
If you know someone who abuses their right to free tickets thus depriving our club of much needed revenue - shop 'em!
I heard of several instances today of people completely taking the p1ss out of BFC by getting REGULAR, unlimited supplies of free tickets.
THIS HAS GOT TO STOP.

Never mind shopping them, name the parasites on here.

I may be wrong, but I think it is linked to football in the community. When I am selling TITS outside the main gates there are quite a few people turning up with loads of kids in tow who are then given loads of freebies.I have always assumed that they are local junior football teams.

On a couple of occasions I've picked up tickets from the kiosk (that I've paid for I hasten to add), some people have been picking up comps who certainly look as if they could afford to pay and don't appear to look as if they are there with youngsters etc.
IMO if there are people who are getting comps for no good reason they should be ashamed that lots of fans are giving up time and money to keep the club alive whilst they behave like parasites.
I don't know if it is possible but I for one would welcome an investigation and more openess about this whole issue.
:nono: to loads of comps being handed out.
:mad1: with people who scab off of the club.

This subject is about to be raised with someone who cares and would like feedback.. Stedders.
I am fed up with paying my £16/£18 a week to hear of people getting freebies that have no affection whatsoever for our Club.
After Saturday, the final straw, when someone I know told me he and his family haven't missed a home game yet thanks to freebies, and guess what? He'd brought his mates along too this week...
Fu$king Fed Up with giving information till I'm blue in the face about this subject, Bollox, I'll start to do everything I can to see The Bees for free if things are not sorted out..
There are several scams I know about and I'm Fu$ked if I can be bothered to keep trying to raise money for this club if we abuse those who pay and pay and pay..
I'm all for a 'NO FREE TICKETS' day. No players comps, no FIC comps, no Directors comps..just to see what crowd we'd get..

I share the anger of many of ther others on here.
People put lots of money into this football club, while others get a free ride. Things need to change.

I suppose its fair enough for under 12's etc to get free tickets through their schools / clubs (which would include a parent/guardian) but why on earth do there have to be Adult complimentary tickets (obviously except match sponsor and matchball sponsor, who have paid anyway)?

I thought that this was one of the first issues that John Mac had looked at.
I remember that there was a report that under Noades and Hargraves there was an average 600 comps dished out per home match and Bees United were gonna get a hammer lock on the problem.
If you are right and it is still going then............

players often get freebie tickets for their families, as do football in the community (don't knock it - it is how I first started supporting Brentford way back in the 80s) plus a few others no doubt. This happens across all football clubs not just Brentford, and I think wasting too much effort on the freebie merchants just detracts from the bigger issues.
I remember playing footie during the half term at the Brentford Leisure Centre while I was still at junior school and Andy Feeley shot from close range really hard which I promptly saved resulting in much applause - bloody hurt tho.

When I was but a nipper I got free tickets, and if I hadn't used them I wouldn't be a full-paying Bees fan now. So stopping them entirely is not a sensible plan. But cracking down on the serial abusers IS. :nono:

Why do we need Football In The Community freebies when children get in for £3 anyway and can by a season ticket for peanuts? Apart from the youth (the future of BFC) who else do we need to give complimentary tickets to?

It's more for the parents, who bring the children and would have to pay £12-£18 otherwise.
Perhaps a voucher with free adult ticket for every 3-4 children's ones should be given out with FITC events.

To be honest I'm not to sure that its the tickets intened for FITC recipients that are the problem.
How many comps do club employees get? and are they printed on FITC tickets

I think it would be useful and informative if someone could give us a breakdown of the allocation no names obviously but figures of comps given out to players, staff, etc.
I'd also agree with the earlier statement about comps for kids. £3 isn't much to pay and whilst on the other hand it doesn't cost the club too much how many of these kids comps find there way onto adults who use them?

I think you'll find this is what I suggested above (some days ago)! The silence was deafening! :nono:

Back in the 90's when I was running the "Aussie Bees" Joyce Neate looked after me for a couple of games, a friend of mine who works for Qantas gets looked after (nudge nudge wink wink) when he's over, but 100-200 free tickets would be enough wouldn't it? how many do they give out?

600 tickets used to be regularly given out to local youth clubs, FITC associated groups etc.
I understood that the club this season cut it to 300. This was one of the reasons the first couple of home gates looked particularly low.
Not sure what happens week in week out, but that was the situation at the start of the season. I assume the figure would be raised when the club is confident the tickets end up where they are intended.
