I started the thread on awful strikers, now whta about our 'keepers, and I couldn't think of anyone other than Ashley Bayes, although Andy Woodman wasn't much kop

I agree about Ashley Bayes however Paddy Roche ex Man United was also pretty bad along with nearly all the Scottish Goalies

Paul McCullough (early 80's) played a handful of games and was dreadful; made Bayes look like Peter Shilton.
Paddy Roche wasn't too bad, I'm sure he saved a penalty in a 2-2 draw with Portsmouth at GP and was then target practise for those nice Portsmouth fans as they pelted him with golf balls, coins and anything else they could lay their nasty little hands on.

Bayes was probably the worst I've seen.

Tamar Aouf aka Tamar Fernades was pretty damn poor from what I remember.

Bayes was worst; Fernandes/Aouf second worst - but Petar Borotra had he stayed for more than a couple of friendlies could have run them close: well past his best, unpredictable and uncommanding.
Just (slightly) off-topic... anyone remember one of our goalies being sent off and being replaced in goal by an outfield player? How did the stand-in keeper do? My guess is they were still better than Tamar and Ashley together.

Ashley Bayes was our worst keeper .
I remember him having a terrible game against Spurs .
Cost us the game .
I also remember Terry Evans saying that in training he was a superb keeper , he just couldnt do it in front of a crowd I suppose.
Paul Priddy had his bad moments too .

Didn't we have a youngster on loan from Glasgow Rangers a few years back (Peter Scott?) he was pretty ropey from what I remember.

The one game Jimmy Glass played for us on the last game of the season.
I remember that he was pretty bad then.
Still a legend from the previous seaosn though

I personally did not think that Woodman was that bad.
Remeber those saves on the way to the div 3 title at Cambridge

Could you clarify this & confirm you're not calling Paddy Roche Scottish?
Dave McKellar was Scottish & was one of the best keepers we have had at GP.
