Does anybody remember a fantastic Stan Bowles freekick at GP, which was dissalowed because the ref for some reason made it indirect.

Anybody remember the game and date etc?

Possibly not very helpful, but I remember Marcus Gayle scoring from 35 yards or more out against Hull in the championship season and turning to celebrate before it was gently pointed out to him that the free kick had been indirect.

I remember most things about Sir Stanley, corner kick goal that night etc
But I can not remember this one and bearing in mind I was a Home and Away merchant, I really should.

I really do remember it as clear as day.

It was a freekick to the New Road side of the centre of the pitch, about 27yds out shooting at the Royal Oak end.

Please help me.

I dont remember it either .
I do remember a great goal he scored by dribbling past about three defenders and scoring but the ref disallowed it because some one was offside.

Bish you are not mad. I think it was in a midweek game against Wimbledon when we were 2-0 up and halftime and managed in inimitable Brentford style to lose 3-2 when a certian Mr F Joseph tore us apart.

At the time we all laughed thinking the game was won - it wasn't !

I remember that game very well,it was near the end of the season and we had an outside chance of going up(but true to form we fkuced it up),but I still can't recall the Bowles disallowed goal that Bish is going on about.
