Moderators please make this a sticky.
You will see from the official site Bees United have launched a print cartridge recycling scheme
http://www.brentfordfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10421~410963,00.html.
This is a fundraising scheme that does not involve you giving money :) . All you have to do is give something you would have thrown away!
Our aim is to channel the money into Football In The Community (reducing the need for BFC to fund this directly) by using the Bee Green Campaign to demonstrate that the Club is conscious of a wider community responsibility and still raise cash. We are likely to get more support with this initiative from businesses (where there is volume) if the scheme is of wider Community interest than supporting BFC (even if it is one of the same thing).
So all you lot being on the Internet must have printers - so start bringing the old ones to GP and putting them in the recycling bins. Please also do your bit by not only saving the cartridges yourself but also persuading as many people/organisations as you can to start saving the cartridges for Bees Utd to help football in the local community!

Question, BB (and I know I ask this every month or so, but...)
Do you take Image Drums for LED printers as well as their cartridges?

How long before someone gets arrested by the OB for carrying an offensive weapon into the ground ? "Honest, officer, it's an ink cartridge...." :D
Have passed on the word to my email distribution list and hope to get some response. Good call, Brentford !

Just out of interest, does anyone have a ballpark figure as to how much this kind of thing would raise financially ? Is there an accepted figure as to how much 1 ink cartridge is worth, for example ?

Im away from my office for two weeks,I'll pop some figures up in Sept. From distant grey matter HP ink jets are worth around £2.00 , but dont hold me to that.It deosnt sound much, but theres a few users out there ! On how much will this raise, its how long is a piece of string.Hopefully loads ! It may be worth searching under charities/toner collection to get an idea of how potentially huge this may be..International Technology Products in Reading are one of the largest collectors in Europe,I think they process something like 800,000 empties a month or was it 80,000 ?I'll check, how ever they employ loads of peeps and the owner drives a new Porsche 911 every year !

check out www.actionaidrecycling.org.uk which lists values for printer cartridges and mobile phones. Maybe these could be collected as well?

When you have 10+ Cartridges ring Peter Guntrip on 0118 973 9707 and tell him you have a Beescart collection.
