As some of you may know we have entered a tournamnet at Hitchin on May Day Bank Holiday Monday for the last 2 years.
We have been invited again. Monday 3rd May this year.
However there is only 1 place left so if we are going to enter we need to do it ASAP.
If you fancy this tournamnet please reply ASAP.
If I have 13 or more by next Tues I will enter us, if not I won't.
Even that may be too late, but I can't enter without knowing how many we can get there.
Any questions then reply in teh usual ways.
Cheers
Chris

For those who not have played in this tournament a bit of info.
This is a six team tournament, with non-league supporters teams like Dagenham, Ayelsbury playing in a league system. We will play five games of either 20 or 25minutes. The Tournament is played at Hitchin's Top Field ground, which despite being a bit dilapadated has a lot of charm of grounds of the past, and you still get a thrill out of playing at a proper football ground. The tournament has in the past started at 9am in the morning and finishes at about 5. All games are officiated by qualified referees, and their is a tournament organiser who announces all the scorers names (even more of an incentive to score!). If we can get a good squad there is no reason why we can't be challenging for honours.
I would urge anyone who has a free Monday to come along as it is one of the highlights in the season, as I'm sure any players who have played there will agree with.

Yeah nice tournament, tempted but too unfit. Last time was gald being a right sided player that I didn't go anywhere near THAT corner!!!!
Good luck if a team goes - you get your name read out on the tannoy if you score, and there are dug outs! ;)

Count me in, sounds like it'll be a good laugh if we can get a team together.

Hi all.
I've spoken to the guy at Hitchen and there is still a place for us if we want it.
However I've currently only got 7-8 players.
I'll leave it until tomorrow afternoon but if I don't get 13+ by then I won't be able to enter us.
It's not fair on the organisers if we go there with out enough players, or pull out late.
Hope we can get it on, and that you understand my position.
Cheers

Assuming you mean Hitchin in Herts not Hitchen (wherever that may be!), I will play if you only need one more to make up the numbers or a fat sub etc!!!

The +1's (apologies for the rather rude term) are Dale, a mate of Chris Belcher's, both new to HJ and a guy called Rob who Supes introduced me to.

Still looking for a couple more players if anyone is interested.
I was sent these directions:
Venue: Hitchin Town Football Club, Top Field, Fishponds Road, Hitchin, Herts
By Rail: Hitchin station 30 minutes out of London Kings Corss and 20 mins walk
to the ground. Exit station and turn right towards station exit 9across bus stop
area). At B&Q cross the road and head anti clockwise following the path around
the B&Q building until you come to Nightingale Road and The Nightingale Pub.
Follow road down about 250 yards to roundabout and go staright ahead. At next
roundabout (church on right) go straight over with park on the left. At next
roundabout turn right up the hill (between showroom and Victoria pub) and this
road leads into Fishponds Road. Follow for 300 yards and ground is on the right
opposite a large green just past the swimming pool complex.
By Road: A1(M) north to Junction 8 (Stevenage North/Hitchin) turn left at slip
road roundabout towards Hitchin/Bedford and follow for 3-4 miles into Hitchin.
At large roundabout (Three Moorhens Pub) take third exit signposted
Luton/Bedford. At roundabout go straight voer onto 1 way system. At traffic
lights go straight over. At next roundabout you'll see large sign opposite for
HTFC - turn right at that roundabout and entrance to ground is shortly after bus
stop on left.
Our first game is scheduled for 9.55, and we should still be playing at 3.oo pm, even longer if we're winning!!!!
So aim to arrive by 9.15 or so.
Nick Galley will be the manger for the day and I have confirmed transport for most.
If you don't know how you are planning to get there please call me ASAP.

Don't forget you need shorts, socks, water and some money for subs, normal prices will apply. Plus it may rain so bear that in mind. There is also a possibility of long periods of inactivity, games about 1 hour apart, so also bear that in mind.
Any problems get back to me ASAP.
Cheers
Chris
