who remembers this little corker:confused: lol
nothing to play for game but memorable for the last 5 mins when with the bees 2-1 in front, bournemouth were given a penalty at the ealing rd end (in front of the 500 or so cherries there)............cue hundreds running onto the pitch from the oak and the new rd trying to get the game abandoned:nono: :D ......after 5 mins, the old bill manage to get everyone onto the track and hold a flimsy line in front........bournemouth take the penalty, Paddy Roche saves, bees all go ballistic and come straight back on with but with even more numbers.........old bill shrug their shoulders and the referee blows for time with 5 mins and injury time still remaining..........result stands at 2-1.
someone nicks the ball off the ref and an improtu game of 50 a side takes place on griffin parks hallowed turf.............those were the days when pitch invasions at the last game were definetly a done thing............;) lol

Blimey, I'd forgotten all about that. Great memory.
Seem to remember being escorted out of the Ealing Road end by the Old Bill with loads of other Bees. Not that there was any trouble occurring.

Remember BeeLUCKY - if you do, the club gets fined - and fined big.

But would the fine be worth paying if the game was abandoned, was replayed, we won, and didn't go down??;)

Wasn't it Nigel Spackman who took the penalty for Bournemouth? As I remember it there was a great mob running up the pitch towards the Ealing Road end and they had just about reached the half-way line when he took the kick and then the ref blew up . End of season pitch invasions, what do we get now? Tannoy announcers reminding everyone that it is a criminal offence to enter the field of play etc etc.

remember the game before this..........Millwall away and THEIR last home game and the only time WE'VE ever taken a mob to the old den........they had to win to have a chance of staying up and thankfully they did 1-0 :)
Brentford layed on 13 free coaches that day as a thank you for all the support during the season and all the 'chaps' decided to take up this sporting offer.......one coach was ambushed near waterloo and the occupants had some fresh air for the rest of the journey:D
arrived late at the old den and everyone was put into the away corner (bees had around 1,000 there, which in those days was a HUGE support at the most un-welcoming ground in the country;) )
but yours truely decided to sit in their enclosure thinking it would be ok in there........big mistake as this was where 200 of their casuals were sitting, right by the away fans:eek:
only time ive ever clapped another teams goal against the bees:o
at the final whistle the millwall fans invaded the pitch and were literally mugging their own players for their shirts and shorts.......some of the players were literally running for their lives with just their y-fronts onlol
police bought dogs onto the pitch and eventually cleared it but bees fans were still kept in the ground for over half an hour till they cleared a path at the back of the stand..........and then had a huge oldbill escort away from south london and to safety.
going to millwall in those days was definetly not boring:D

yeah, well remembered. I was 15 years old at time, me and a mate had attended our school fate earlier that afternoon and had 2 pints of Harp on tap (....now thats going back some time) each.
We also stood in the Ealing Road as the Oak & New road entrances were closed due to the large crowd, seem to also remember loads of other Bees in the Ealing road.
Funnily all I seem to remember was the Paddy Roaches' penalty save and not any of the goals - wow is that what 2 pints of Harp does to ya!

If I remember correctly, Sir Bob Booker hit the cross bar from what must have been about 35 yards that day.
It was at the Ealing end so must have been in the first half but it bounced down around the goal line and came out.
A cracking day was had by all.
