Mitch's bio...

Mitch grew up in the small town of Dickinson, North Dakota, the
youngest of six children. His dad was a lawyer, and is now a federal judge. His mom grew up on a farm in Minnesota, and currently works in the fashion business.

Mitch's gift was discovered at the tender age of six, when a first
grade teacher noticed that his voice stood apart from the rest of the class. He was assigned the lead solo in every school music concert
thereafter. As a young boy, he was called by the church to do a solo
in the choir, as the church women needed some assistance in hitting a
few high notes. For the young Malloy, this was no problem. "After one
service, my dad told me that my voice reminded him of the Vienna
Boys' Choir!" Mitch recalls that moment fondly, and attributes much
of his success to the unwavering support of his family.

At 12 years old, he picked up his sister's guitar and never turned
back. He formed a band with his school buddies, learning songs by the
most popular acts at the time: Cheap Trick, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top,
Heart and others. Mitch recalls, "From the very beginning, being on
stage felt natural to me. These bands were a great influence. The
thrill I got from hearing and feeling my guitar through an amp made
it so clear to me that music was definitely what I wanted to do for
the rest of my life."

After graduation, feeling some pressure from his father to pursue
college and a career, Mitch applied and was accepted to the Cornish
Institute of Allied Arts in Seattle. His teachers immediately noticed
something unique about Mitch's talent. After a year, they convinced
him to take his vocal and performing talents away from school and to
launch headfirst into the music business. He hated school, didn't
need much encouragement, and was excited about pursuing his goal to
become a rock star.
Mitch went home, worked a job long enough to save up for a VW bus,
and moved to New York.

After years of searching in the big city, he hooked up with a well-
known rock manager, and now V2 Records President, Richard Sanders.
After many months of challenging Mitch to see if he had what it
takes, Sanders took him on as an artist, taught him the ropes of the
business, and eventually secured a deal with RCA/BMG in New York.
Mitch recorded his first record in Los Angeles with producer Sir
Arthur Payson, entitled simply Mitch Malloy. The record sold over
100,000 units, generated two top 20 singles, landed Mitch a spot
on "The Tonight Show" and produced a video with the hit "Anything at
All" which was played on MTV Europe and is now on VH-1 Europe. The
second record, entitled Ceilings & Walls, produced by Christopher
Neal, took a mellower approach, (the record company's idea), to break
Mitch as an Adult Contemporary artist. "When I questioned this, I was
told that I had no say in the matter," Mitch says, "so I gave it my
best." Mitch sang a duet on the record with Paul Carrack (Squeeze,
Mike and the Mechanics), and Mike Rutherford (Genesis, Mike and the
Mechanics), played some guitar. He also teamed up with songwriters
Dennis Morgan, Mike Reid and Mac McAnally. Ceilings & Walls also had
the top 20 hit, "Tumbling Down" and is still highly sought after by
fans worldwide.

Mitch moved from New York to Nashville to write songs under a
publishing contract with Chrysalis Music. After writing with the top
songwriters in town, Mitch is now recording a rock album. "I feel
like I'm in the best place I've ever been, musically and
otherwise ... I have never been so excited about my music!"
