Can anyone recommend a robust mouse ? I am now on my 4th mouse in the last year and it's starting to piss me off....I use the computer more than most, I guess, but I'm certainly not what I would call a massively heavy user.

Try some sort of PVC cover

Most of the optical ones i have used seem quite robust.

I can highly recommend the Logitech MX700 Cordless Optical Mouse, best mouse I have ever used and I have used a lot:)

It's Not cheap, but it has no wires and no ball and is rechargeable.

You can also get the matching wireless keyboard which I have and is also very good in my opnion.

Price wise you can get the mouse online for about £50 or the mouse/keyboard set for about £75.

Cheers

I have a logitech cordless keyboard/mouse set. The mouse is optical as well. Paid around £50. Be warned they can chomp through batteries.

Well I think you should stop sitting on it anyway, Mikey. That might solve the problem!

Top Tip: Don't get a cordless mouse if you're always hunting for the TV remote control.

Look on ebay for it as well - much cheaper than the shops - I'm at work so can't look for you due to the firewall here :(
