I did predict last friday the derby winner !

Czechs have been one of Europe's best in recent years, and qualified top of their group, drawing in Holland and winning 3-0 at home (i think, memory's fading...)


it was actually 3-1....

also in Germany's qualification, they were drawing in the Faroes in the 88th min, but scored in the 89th and 90th to win 2-0 :eek:

still, u can never write off the germans

Group D: Tough one - Holland, Germany and Czech Rep all similar. The Germans always squeeze through, Czechs can be inconsistent so I would go for Holland to progress with Germany.

played 8, won 7, drew 1. unbeaten, only draw was in holland (1-1), who they beat 3-1 at home. although the rest of the group was ****...

i've seen Jan Koller of Czech Rep at 40/1, he scores a lot for the Czechs and they have Latvia to play, so could be a thrashing.... he's the best value i reckon...

The Racing Post today had some interesting stats about backing the draw in opening matches. They said that backing the draw blindly over the last six tournaments would have yielded a £48.50 profit to a £10 level stake or a £99.50 profit to a £10 stake if you just look at the Euro championships.

However they also appear to have missed a trick as they had a little table which said that group favourites had only drawn 6 matches as opposed to 13, 11 and 12 for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th favourites. If you only bet on draws for opening matches not including the group favourite you end up with 15 winners from 32 matches and a profit of £169.50 to a £10 level stake.

So I'll be having a few quid on the following 4 draws:

Spain v Russia
Switzerland v Croatia
Sweden v Bulgaria
Czech Republic v Latvia

I was absolutely delighted to buy Larsson's goal minutes at a steal of 23 tonight, very generous of SPIN. After he's scored the 2 goals I then bought shirt numbers and thanks to the same man's pass to Allback in injury time, I made another packet. :bound:
