ITV are showing the Italy game but I'd much prefer to see how this game goes.

hmmmmm this penalty bet doesnt look to good at the moment :sneakoff:
Latest odds.. hope you all got on board the 12/1 one when you were instructed to!! :nono:
Who will win Euro 2004? EW 1/3 Odds 1,2
France 2/1
England 11/2
Portugal 11/2
Italy 7/1
Czech Rep 15/2
Germany 14/1
Sweden 14/1
Holland 18/1
Denmark 25/1
Greece 33/1
Latvia 400/1
I have a feeling Sweden V Denmark may end up 2-2.
But the bookies have cut the odds so there is no value in it.

Not if both teams are happy for it to be 2-2.
Talking on a football pitch isn't difficult.
IMO You hit the nail on the head here.
Andy Townsend is a to**er! Of course there was no gentleman's agreement to draw the game 2-2 beforehand and yes of course the game was full of commitment which would dispel any suggestion that the result was not genuine.......but the Sweden 89th minute equaliser just seemed too soft for my liking. It could be that as time was dwindling away and one team knew they would still qualify because they had reached that magical 2 goals scored mark, that the desire to clear the ranks before the equaliser diminished? The bookies were certainly wise to the possibility of a 2-2 draw. All I can say is thank goodness for the openness of the Eurovision Song contest lol

I wish I'd had the courage of my convictions.
It just seemed too obvious that it would finish that way.
Especially once it got to 2-1, an extra goal would suit everyone.

There is a possibility of 7 penalty shoot-outs, I wouldn't panic yet.

Hardly, Denmark now have to play Czech but I'd bet theyd have rather played Germany

Had £30 at 6/4 on the draw last night in the Sweeden v Denmark game which was nice.
Tonight the clever money has got to be on the Czech's at a massive 100/30 to beat ze germans!!
Holland v Latvia - the draw anyone????? :sorted:

Lay off the Czech's tonight, they're leaving out most of their best players.

Czech Republic v Germany – Group D
Germany could join Italy as one of the early big names to go out of the Euro 2004 tournament, going into their final game against the group winners Czech Republic without a win to their name.
The Czechs have qualified top of group D after their remarkable three-goal recovery against the Dutch to augment another comeback victory over Latvia.
The Germans will obviously face a side that can relax with little resting on the game for them, but in Euro 2000 they had a similar last game against a Portugal side that had already reached the last eight, and lost 3-0 to go out at the group stage.
Their draw against Latvia was a major shock, and the question mark now is whether this is really a poor German team or whether they will react positively to the cool reception they have received in their home
country.
But odds-on Germany at every bookmaker does not reflect their stuttering performances and does not entice, especially as they have only a single flukeish free-kick in the 'goals for' column.
Czech coach Karol Bruckner could take the opportunity to rest star men such as Jan Koller and Milan Baros, but the quality of their back up players has been eye-catching and will barely weaken the side.
Certainly Banik Ostrava striker Marek Heinz was one of the unknowns of the tournament, but impressive substitute appearances in both matches have made him a player to watch.
At BestPrice 5/2 to score at any time, the former Hamburg striker could be a worthy candidate to grab the goal that ends the lengthy international career of Oliver Kahn. Heinz is 9/1 for either the first or last goal, but as usual it is best to wait for the team announcement before placing this enticing bet.
The Czechs are more than backable at BestPrice 7/2 after a major gamble on the Germans forced their price to the cheap side of evens.
Recommended bets:
3 pts - Czech Republic to win (pays 7/2@Skybet)
2 pts - Marek Heinz to score first – if starting* (pays 9/1)

Funny you should say that oh great wibblemeister :blush I agree, and to prove it had already decided that when the Premier Leagues starts next season, to do a scorecast for every televised game (all the ones that displayed in the shop window, be it 1 or 5) and to record my exploits under a new thread, so we can prove that to a level stake over time, they are complete and utter ..........last edited by nocoat 12:00 (no swearing nocoat)
I didn't really swear, just wanted to do some moderating, doesnt need much in this forum :(
