Ok any tips and gambles for the EUROs?

Missed penalties on SPIN represents good value, currently on 6.2.. has that moved up a bit though

I have bets on England at 9/1, and Raul as top scorer at 12/1, surely too high?

www.sportingodds.com are giving away a tenners worth of free bets when you stake a score, in total, on any markets... this can't be bad cos its open to existing clients :bound:

I'm definitely gonna lump on England at 12.5 in there group as well  and may even buy Germany's total goals at 5.2 :sneakoff:

Anyone got any other money losing ideas

Oh yes, also another free bet in William Hill, based on fantasy football, you gotta bee in it to win it ( A Mini Cooper or £25 free bet) so what you got to lose :sorted:

I have Raul & Henry up front :love2:

Out of interest in Euro 96 there were 6 missed pens, and in Euro 2000 there were 8 missed pens.

I've gone for Koller to be top scorer at 40/1

Germany 20/1?
World cup finalists
World cup hosts rebuilding for 2006?
Group of death but after that anything can happen.

I reckon Italy will go close again though

Just been looking at the Reverse Forecasts for the groups on Sporting Odds. Select which Two teams you think will progress from the group stage

Group A: Portugal & Spain - Don't think Russia or Greece will feature
Group B: Who to go through with France, England or Croatia? I think we will finish with the same points, losing to France, beating the Swiss and drawing with each other
Group C: Italy & Sweden - Denmark and Bulgaria will be decent sides but not quite strong enough?
Group D: Tough one - Holland, Germany and Czech Rep all similar. The Germans always squeeze through, Czechs can be inconsistent so I would go for Holland to progress with Germany.

Anyway, I quite fancy this as an accumulator (I find it hard to back England as they are usually such a let down)

Spain & Portugal 10/11
France & Croatia 7/2 (that's the gamble as far as I'm concerned) :(
Italy & Sweden 7/4
Holland & Germany 2/1

£50 on those selections - as an accumulator - brings in £3.5K

Other combinations, such as England progressing instead of Croatia or Czech Republic progressing instead of Holland or Germany still look good value :sorted:

Germany is one team I'd leave well alone.

I don't fancy them to come through their group.

I fancy the Czech's each way, and Pauletta as top goal scorer.

Thierry Henry as top scorer with a France v Holland Final would be most rewarding for me  :sorted:

that's what i reckon too - Czechs have been one of Europe's best in recent years, and qualified top of their group, drawing in Holland and winning 3-0 at home (i think, memory's fading...)

the Germans haven't got a hope, IMHO

but good luck with the bet Griffin, 3.5k ain't to be sniffed at

Here in Sydney we also of course have sports betting.

Not sure if you can open accounts from England here in NSW but if you can you may find some value odds - for example Engaland are 10/1 here to win it

Also we don't pay TAX on the winnings!

Really? No tax? When I was last over you could pay tax when you placed the bet to avoid larger tax on the winnings but they got rid of it completely eh? Unusual for them to take a tax off once it was on!

Defeat at home to Hungary this weekend.

Friendlies don't mean much but Hungary aren't great, and Germany may have played their first choice team.

Wonder what odds you get on Latvia to beat them?

Germany's qualification includes

Germany 1 Lithuania 1
Germany 2 Faroe Islands 1
