It's the process by which politicians, especially Labour ones, try to present events or facts in a more favourable light to their own aims.
Hope this helps! :D

Not a very helpful forum moderator
I mean "SPIN" but the nasty GPG prevents "shouting" in thread titles :(

Its a spread betting firm, I think we have established that most gamblers on here are a member of http://www.sportingindex.com/index.asp?tpid=6285 so its always best to quote spreads from that company

oh you mean sporting index??
ok...
well for example SPIN reckon that there will be approximately 5 missed penalties in the whole of Euro2004 (incl shootout). They mark up the market between 4.8 - 5.7
if you reckon that there will be more missed penalties you BUY the bet @ 5.7 at whatever stake you wish.
if you think there will be less, you SELL the bet @ 4.8
..... i decide to BUY £10 @ 5.7. There are 10 missed penalties, i win £43. (10-5.7 * £10)
if i had sold, £10 @ 4.8, i would lose £52.

got an email from SPIN just now....
"....Whilst I am writing to you I wanted to draw your attention to what the Racing Post described on Saturday as “the most radical cut in spread sizes in the industry’s history”. In case you weren’t aware, we have reduced a number of our football spreads (including Supremacy, Total Goals and Corners) across our entire football service. We took a record number of bets over the weekend so I hope you will join those who have already benefited from the great value that is now available. Please see the website for further details...." :sorted:

SPIN is a way of losing money much quicker than fixed odds betting. This is all you need to know 'nana.
