Can anyone else think of a player who has done a Hreidarsson?

He joined us in the third, albeit on good money, having just come down from the Premiership then went back there. Was a real risk for him playing wise. Hard to believe he ever came to Griffin Park.

Hands up, I cringed at the thought of him coming to us, remembered a couple of Palace games with this tall Icelanndic streak of p!ss at the back who looked so out of place. Always been a good judge me.

Great player for the Bees, and his transfers did us very well.

I seem to recall Stewart Houston was signed from Chelsea and was then transfered to Manchester United but I'm not sure if he played in the bottom division with us (i.e. Div. 4 at that time).

I think we sold him in the 74 when we were in the 4th

I think Houston joined us in the 4th, got promoted with us, then got relegated next season, and we sold him in the 4th - we certainly got promoted and relegated in successive years.

His position was a bit different from Hreidarsson's though, as Herman was virtually a regular at Palace, whereas I don't think Houston had played for Chelsea; he certainly wasn't a regular

I think you're right - Stewart may have played in a couple of first team games for Chelsea but was really an up-and-coming reserve player. However, it's clear that his stint with the Bees put him on the map (he was a really classy back four player). I'm not sure how long he played for Man Utd. though.
