Apols if this exists elsewhere - gambling talk makes my eyes bleed.

In footy, what does 'each way' actually mean? Like, I've put a fiver on Czech Republic to win Euro 2004 'each way' (so stumped up a tenner) - what does that mean?

Means you have put £5 on them to win and £5 for a place (in Euro 04 this means to come second). Get to the final and your win dosh. Not a bad bet, IMHO...

Your bet is made up of £5 win at the price quoted and £5 to place 1st or second at half the price quoted. You should have got 12/1 or 14/1 so if they win the tournament you would have £65 or £75 to come back for the win part (including your stake) and £35 or £40 to come back for the place part (including your stake) :sorted:

A very wise decision.
