I've just moved to Brentford & am desperately seeking work... I've sent off loads of CVs to employers & agencies & so on for full time work, & have asked a few agencies about temping (to give me a bit of cash until I get something full time) but they've got so many students on their books for the summer at the moment that I've just got no chance.

Does anyone know of anywhere that needs staff on a temporary basis (full time would be even better) in the admin/IT/secretarial/customer service area, starting ASAP, in the Brentford area? I've got a car so travelling isn't a problem although I'd prefer not to travel too far but I suppose beggars can't be choosers :(

Thanks

Have you tried http://www.jobserve.com/it/jobserve/homepage.asp for IT work Mr Trandy ? Its the dogs nads for finding IT jobs (contract and perm).

Magenta, the main joberve site has other types of work apart from IT but not as many vacancies. For general stuff http://www.reed.co.uk/ is a decent site with a good search function, brought up loads of local stuff when I looked for my ex-housemate a month or so ago.

Good luck, G

Thanks  I've been to see Reed, they've got me some temping work but I'm just struggling to find anything permanent at the moment.

Bigbee whether it was too far too travel would depend on the wage really, I wish money wasn't the main thing I had to consider but it is, purely because I need to earn enough to live! :( I can't believe how much just basic living is costing.

Forget the local branch, the people in those places are usually rubbish anyhow and could not giva a damn especially if they are temp recruiters only. The website has loads of perm stuff as well. If you log into the above two sites at least twice a day (morning and late afternoon) for a search and assuming you have decent applicable experience and references I'd say you will be sorted in no time. Job market aint all that bad at the mo, only say that as I should know as I was looking not too long ago myself when my IT contracting was a bit 'iffy' ;)

Oh and don't forget that there is no such thing as too many email applications ! Get your CV and covering letter sorted and remember to change either/both of them to suit each vacancy. The great thing with these sites these days is you dont have to waste time filling in pages of forms by hand. Just attach those .cv and .cov-let files away you go :)
