for 3 years! :nono:

So then, is it more than £60k p.a. or say £70k for a 3 year deal ?

Bit of spin if it's the latter but for immediate cashflow, it's saved us the repair costs at this time.

As for the "repair" bills, I would think that the a substantial portion would be covered by "production costs".

So then Mr  are you saying that where our Chairman (well, Noades' choice of Chairman) has spoken out saying how great it is and how wonderful things are - that it's not really 'that' good ?

It's got to be 'that' good surely, there's been no rallying call to say that "despite this, the Club is still in a perilous position etc., etc.," so ........

I really have no idea - just looking to make up my own mind as usual. All we know is that it's over 60k and is a three-year deal. The only other piece of information we have is that it is "quite reasonable" to Brickie Chap but for a car windscreen washer I'm not sure if it's good or bad.

Well done to those responsible for this deal, we all know that we're in the shit with Noades. But I'm with Dangerous on this one, lets get positive about our football club. If we all moaned, and our posts were always negative. We would frighten everyone away. Please remember sometimes moaning can do more harm than good :nono:

On the "New Road roof" thread (found thanks to the Similar Thread feature) I found this post.
Cost to paint Roof.
Due to some fairly stringent environmental issues that have to be adhered to, I understand that from quotes previously received it is about 10k per roof for painting.

The cost to paint the roof is additinal to the cost to advertise on it.

So, anybody got a spare Pounds 450,000.00 - That would give you both roofs for 3 years and cover the cost to paint as well

All for less than a Smithy !!!!!!!!!!!!!

And before BigBee asks, no he cant paint the roofs for 8k a piece.

Regards to all

Paul USA
Now, if it's £450k for 3 years I'll be happy.

I've updated the story on the front page (which is the first post of this thread) with possible financial details.

Did somebody get confused between "Qatarians"(?) & "Egyptians" when the latter were

looking around GP at the start of the year?

1. the official site did make me chuckle when Eddie Rampant Rogers said "We have taken our time in finding a suitable partner for such a high profile sponsorship arrangement " - f*ck off Eddie, BFC were sh1tting themselves because they couldn't find anyone

It made me chuckle too, I thought who could we get to attribute a positive quote to, and it came down to either Roy King or Eddie Rogers :D:D:D To be fair the majority of the fanbase would be more worried if ER came out and said 'I was shitting myself until this deal came along, well the fans were anyway because I've got little to lose my £100k is secured, but luckily we've got this deal and we're closer to not playing in the Combined Counties on Gunnersbury Park '. Even if it's more transparent I've always thought the 'crisis club' label could backfire on us somehow, it's Brentford innit!

Whoever is doing the PR stuff needs to stop using Noades-era people to attribute quotes to. It ****es off a lot of people, who if a name was different might not be so annoyed. I would have had Stephen Callen saying the finances will be slightly better now and we can hopefully with more deals like this be in a stronger position to take the club over. Even if it is not the case a perception of a supporters-run club should be easy to create.

Doesnt it all make sense now, why no one seem worried about the budget for the season :sorted:

Erm well hold the euphoria Brickie Chap.

Joe Bourke has now confirmed that the roof monies were already in the budget (I would have been surprised if they were not as the negotiations must have been going on for some time) and Joe is still only able to state that BU and the BFC board are confident that the club has enough funds to get us through to the end of 2004 and then a negative cash flow will probably kick in (depending upon attendances, cup run etc) with the overdraft chugging up back to its £4.5million ceiling.

So we haven't won the lottery; the roof monies announced today (whilst very welcome and well done to presumably Jerry Carter) were already in the budget and furthermore...............

Now aware of that, hence my latest question to Joe on his thread :(

Sorry Brickie..........I should have realised that you were on the case........I haven't ploughed through the whole thread as for me it is all very nice but if the monies were in the budget and already spent before the deal was announced then I'm not about to cream my jeans........

Nobody at BFC or BU will confirm that we have enough of the readies to get us through to the end of the season although Joe has said that BU will release a copy of the budget (presumably short form) when he has crunched the numbers again. As I have said it doesn't really matter if the roof brings in £1million a year if it is already spent in the budget before the deal is even announced.

Well done Jerry. If it wasn`t for the fact we are going to almost definately lose GP and Altonwood will hand back nothing, I would be quite pleased.

According to my copy of the Daily Star today ( i only buy it for the sport section and the fact that the scantily clad young ladies have so much more class than in the Daily Sport :brow: ) Anyway in the sport section it says the sponsorship is worth £ 400k.

Today's Sun says £400K, which seems about right.
I suggested roof sponsorship to a pal who's marketing boss at Thomson Holidays last year (he used to live in South Ealing and saw the Bees a few times, despite being a Spurs fan). They were quoted £300K for 2 years, which he thought was way too trumpy

Wonder how they found out then when, according to PJ, the Qatarians wanted to keep it quiet.

I didnt say that Nana

I asked whether "perhaps they didnt want figures bandied about" as I wasnt quite as exasperated or devastated as you that no figure was mentioned in the announcement. Just pleased they got some money in

Sorry if I got that wrong PJ.

However, I do find it annoying that it's ok to brief others that the deal was for £400k but not tell the fans (directly that is).
