Exeter away LDV 2001ish

Anyone remember this game? Drove with a couple of mates to Exeter on a tuesday night. Went in the Brook Tavern before the match. Had a right good beer up and sing song. Stood on the terrace behind the goal. Loads of bees for a micky mouse game on a tuesday night. Lost 3-2 I think. Powell own goal if I remember correctly? Anyway went back down the Brook Tavern after the match for a quick beer. Only about 15 other Brentford in there. Next thing you know Exeter's mob attack the pub window goes through gas etc. Pile down the pub and run them down the road. Old Bill turn up after its all happened and were convinced we were Exeter fans :eek: One of my best ever away trips other than the result

Remember the day very well.
A poor game and very poor performance.
10-15 Nervy looking "sly crew" with scarves covering most of their facial features turn up thinking they are hitting easy targets.
The Bees left in the pub steam out and run them up the road.
End of story.
Although it was funny to see a newspaper cutting from their local papers stating that the bullies had been bullied.

Out of interest, is that the incident which is the sole Brentford entry in the Brimson brothers' Capital Punishment book? Something about a ruck in Exeter which only stopped when a bloke got run over and his leg broke?
