Come on you Bees get along this Friday to see one of the UK's unsung metal/hard rock vocalists Steve Grimmett. He's sang with Grim Reaper, Onsluaght & now the excellent Lionsheart. Sadly never had much success in the UK but in mainland Europe, the US, Brazil & Japan Lionsheart are HUGE sales/fanbase wise. In fact there are ten fans coming over from France & Germany for the gig.
Metalhead are devotees of the mighty Motorhead & Humanity are playing the UK's Bloodstock festival in Sep (lots of metal acts play Derby over a weekend to over 5,000 fans).
It's only £5 for three very professional & enjoyable bands - come on & keep music live! Great way to 'warm-up' for the new season :)

Looking forward to this one. I'd best ease off the Carlsberg as I'm off to the Newmarket game the next day.... :drunk:

...sadly Lionsheart have postponed due to their bass player seriously injuring his hand - I think we wont' ask how ;)
BUT Metalhed will now co-headline with Humanity AND we now have SACRED HEART (who appear in Aug at Stripes) playing two songs from their upcoming debut album between sets. VFM :)

METALHEAD + HUMANITY + SACRED HEART Stripes Bar, Brentford FC Friday 30th July 2004

As original headliners Lionsheart sadly had to postpone due to an injured bass player Metalhead and Humanity co-headlined with an extra treat in Sacred Heart popping along for one song between sets to plug their gig at Stripes on 13th August – dedication or what?
Humanity appear at this year’s Bloodstock and have a debut album just out. A six-piece band who excel in aggressive riffing (two top guitar players one of whom was mere 20 years old tonight!) topped by a strong vocalist who easily rises above, the at times, brutal barrage of metal. ‘Mercy’ was brooding number and one things for sure Humanity have the musical class, only slight drawback was the keyboards were used more as backing rather than up front like say fellow metal acts Power Quest and Threshold. Their debit album should certainly be worth a listen. Go see them at Bloodstock as they are a quality act.
Melodic hard rockers Sacred Heart played ‘Lost’ (classic piece of hard rock with a great riff and catchy chorus) and distributed free CD’s to plug their upcoming gigs and they added to the special night of metal and rock music. They have their debut album out soon as well!
Metalhead – I’ve reviewed already their mini-CD here on the Newswire/GRTR! and live they sound even louder! Bar Motorhead you’ll be hard pushed to find a UK band playing straight ahead no frills metal. Very tight musically this three piece and the drummer, Lawrence, pummels the kit into submission like the offspring of John Bonham meets Mikkey Dee. There own tunes have a pre-1990 Metallica feel like ‘Virus’ and ‘Juggernaut’. They even have their own song as a tribute to Lemmy, the aptly named ‘Last Man Standing’. Encore time was Metallica’s ‘Seek and Destroy’ – an inspired choice and the end to a great night of metal.
Go see these three bands (and other like then) and help keep the rock scene going…
