Am i right in thinking that he joined in the noades era? and was sold to us as the discoverer of ian wright et al?
If so, how come he still here, now that the noades era has (hopefully) passed? Dont get me wrong- i love him being here- he obviously has done a lot of work behind the scenes, he helped to get in MA, and has unearthed some quality players for us and is a real asset for the club.
I just wondered whether he is more loyal than Sparrow/Lewington/Hargreaves/Bullivant? Or another job offer never came? or maybe he just loves being here?
Anyone got any views?

I think he came on board before the Noades era. He seems like a damn good scout too, and it was nice to see him in the squad photo.

Seems like a top Scout, Darren Powell, Mahon, Owusu, Rowlands, Paul Smith and Alex Rhodes among players he's recomended.

Pretty sure that Noades brought him along from Palace - but that he had a previous spell with Brentford long long ago. Let's face it, with his surname, he belongs at Griffin Park!

Happy 70 Birthday Mr Griffin. I saw him at the game on Fri and he never seems to look any older.
Gary Johnson (Bristol City boss) was on talksport this morning saying he was have a birthday meal with him. Hope John doesn't mention any any of our latest gems to Gary. :)

I think it was Ghana vs. Senegal when some premiership scouts and ex-Football managers who were at GP all wanted to know where J Griffin was, he seemed to be well liked, I am sure John worked for Noades at Southall before he sold that ground.

DJ campbell was hardly an amazing find though was he? everyone saw the coverage of him when yeading drew newcastle in the FA cup and many scouts were watching him at the time.
