Due to a fire a Cricklewood, there's no trains between St Pancras and St Albans all dayso anyone training it needs to have a re-think.

Is this for real?
Just checked the BBC travel site and it seems it is - buses from St P to Luton! Looks like I'll be driving. Where the hell do you park in Luton?

You've really just got to try and pick one of the less grotty residential streets around the ground from memory - might be worth arriving marginally earlier as space can be at a premium at the best of times....

Lokster reckons the buses start at St Pancras, first stop Elstree (so both he and I are having to come back in from Cricklewood to St Pancras to get a bus back out again). I don't think they stop at West Hampstead although that is the way the train goes.

Not ideal, but a couple of alternatives:
Silverlink run trains to St Albans Abbey station from Euston via Watford Junction. You then need to walk about 20 mins to the other St Albans station and pick up Thameslink to Luton from there.
Some National Express coaches from Heathrow to Luton direct. e.g. 10.55 - 12.20, 11.30 - 12.50, 13.00 - 1425.
Good luck.

Never believe NRE in India!
From Thameslink website:
07:00 Saturday 8th January 2005
Updated information - 10:00 Saturday 8th January 2005
Due to a serious fire near Cricklewood station. Thameslink has had to withdraw the train service between St Albans and St Pancras. A special bus service will be put in place, two fast to St Pancras and two all stations to Mill Hill Broadway then fast to St Pancras, and return. Customers are requested NOT to travel today or tomorrow unless necessary.
Thameslink have been advised by Network Rail that the lines should be open by 14:00 Sunday 9th January

Not sure about arriving early - as I'll be driving, there's no way I want to get there any earlier than absolutely necessary. Might try town centre car-park, I guess.

Park in the Central Station car park Ed. It's cheaper and just as safe
