Better than a Tuesday, I guess, but not good.
10.00 from King's Cross, change at Northallerton and Thornaby arrive Hartlepool 14.01
(there is a 9.00, but no "cheap" fares for that one.)
18.13 Hartlepool, change at Thornaby and Darlington arrive Kings Cross 22.23
(this is the last train - and any earlier and you risk missing extra-time / penalties.)
Apex fare = £49.
Flights to Newcastle go from Heathrow (BA) or Stansted (Easyjet) and will cost about £80 incl taxes etc. Then you need to get to Hartlepool from the Toon, of course!

Four and a half to five hour drive, I reckon. But probably the cheapest option.

Anyone who was planning on staying over in Blackpool... Why not either train it or fly upto Tees Valley Saturday and have a Saturday night in Durham instead.. Only about 20 miles from the ground..

There are some tempting prices on offer (plane and train) however all returns would be too tight for extra time and pens should it go that far.

There is a £90 option with BA from Heathrow and the flight back isn't until 7.40pm.

I was just going to do that. BMI though? :sorted:
Mr Tree

hmmm - getting the cheapest fare with BMI means leaving at 8am. And that's £80 return. Leaving later bumps it up to £100.
Still, maybe it's worth the little extra to avoid spending all day on the fecking train
