We thought we had won it right at the end with Kevin Phillips’ finish.

I haven’t seen it on TV yet so I don’t know whether it was offside or not but really I think we should have wrapped the game up well before then anyway.

Maybe at 2-0 we should have gone for three or four but I think we took our foot off the pedal a little bit.

If we had gone in at 2-0 up at half-time we would have gone on from there but they scored at a good time and that obviously gave them a bit of momentum after the break.

We certainly didn’t underestimate them and we knew that they would give us a good battle but we are a little bit disappointed that we haven’t wrapped it up today. I think we played well enough and had more chances but we have got to go up there now and make sure that we get the win.”

I had a great time at Brentford and it is a very tight stadium.

Their fans can be very vocal — as they were today — and if selected that is a match I would look forward to.

But right now we have just got to concentrate on Tuesday night.

There is nothing that we can do about today’s game so we are looking ahead to West Brom.

We are still in the hat for the quarter final draw but we cannot let that distract us from what will be a massive game in the Premiership for us.”
