does any one know how to get more money for your team eg Brentford because you cant buy any decent players because you dont have the money so you stay a bad team its a vicious circle

ive managed to get them into the championship after about 5 seasons.much harder than other versions imo-in the last two i won the chapions league with brentford!

anyway if you really want to cheat add a manager then buy a reserve player off brentford eg jay smith for £5 million then retire that manager

not that id ever do something like that of couse and believe me its much more rewarding to not cheat!

Press Release...

Patch release date announced plus a free gift!
Added on 25/02/2005 @ 16:50:02 in Press Release

Fans of Football Manager 2005 are about to receive an unexpected gift in the form of a free data update, which will be made available by Sports Interactive and SEGA Europe on Wednesday, March 2nd to co-incide with the release of the second and hopefully final patch for Football Manager 2005.

The data update, which will be available free-of-charge from www.sigames.com, brings the game right up to date by including all changes in personnel that have occurred in the world of football since the game's initial release on November 4th 2004 and the closure of the recent transfer window on January 31st (a total of more than 160,000 change of player, coaching and managerial staff and stats).

"We are very happy to offer our fans this 'thank you' in recognition of the support that they have shown to us and it's great that SEGA has given us the green light to do it," says Miles Jacobson, Managing Director of Sports Interactive. "Football Manager has become the game of choice for all football fans because of the level of realism that it offers its players and this update can only enhance the experience."

The update will be available in a number of forms, combined with the latest (and final) FM 2005 patch in standard, RAR and Torrent format (the patch will also be available as standalone file for those who do not want the update). The patch will be about 15MB without the data, and 80MB with the data. The torrent version will go live early on Wednesday afternoon, with the other versions to follow later in the day. It will be available for both PC & Mac, with seperate patches/updates for Worldwide Soccer Manager. The version being released will not work with the Korean or Czech/Polish versions of the game, and we'll have more information on versions for those as soon as we are given it!

well with at last getting my PC working!!

i eventully got to play FM 05 for the first proper time on Sunday, it worked perfectly.

Yesterday i played it, and about an hour in each time, it comes up with a "football manager has performed an illegal operation" "send, dont send" etc.

anyone else had this? it doesnt stop at a particular place, cos the last place it stopped i can pass the next time (date etc.) i play it! just want to know if anyone else has had this problem?

well got it working.... im 10th after 24 games, after a good start i went on a 10 game non winning run!!!

Bought in George Ndah and Mark Stallard, also Mike Turner on loan from Charlton ;) Also on loan i brought in Skiduson ?? from Arsenal, and Tierney from Man Utd......

Rankin is pants if you start with him, but great if he comes off the bench.

5 points off the play offs. all is not lost.

Never played a Championship Manager yet where I haven't got promoted in my first 2 seasons (i.e. to the Premiership). Always harder to get out of our division than the one above bizarrely.

Anyway, Football Manager is a pile of sh*te IMO.

finished 18th in my first season.

the formation i was using was turning a bit stale, so i changed it.

am now 8th in the league, with Deon Burton and Dwight Yorke up front.

Tabb wants to move to a bigger club! I need the money from a good cup run, this game is hard!!
