Discussion topic:
Should Bees United be able to "suspend" certain articles in its Constitution?
If so, how should these the decision be made?
i) an EGM
ii) a BU Executive Board meeting
iii) three blokes in a pub

Common sense say that it should be able to take steps to prevent unscrupulous Man U "fans" getting priority on tickets for home areas in the event of a sixth round tie at Griffin Park. Stop trying to be difficult for the sake of it!

Ed, I'm not making it difficult. And, despite those that insist I'm on a wind-up for their own purposes, I'm deadly serious: BFC ticketing policy; its Customer Charter etc. is NOT for BU to enforce - it fact it's nothing to do with BU. However they can of course make "recommendations". Don't forget the much quoted Customer Charter covers away games only. BFC are perfectly entitled to change the non-stated policy on home game ticketing - for example, to give perference to BU members only that were members before such-and-such a date.
To my mind this only furthers the muddy waters.
This is an illegal and non-consitutional action.

Congratulations on the 14,000.
On an aside, my reading says the constitution allows some discretion and there would be uproar if it were not exercised leading to GP being filled with Manchester United fans who it transpired got tickets through tardy BU memberships. Also, who cares? One game at a time...

The problem is that BU have said that they will accept these applications - just not yet. That is, probably, illegal.

Also, have Lifeline implemented a similar policy, or indeed the club?

Not explicitly, although I take the point. I still suspect they have leeway enough to delay for reasonable investigation of applications (besides, as far as I'm aware there's not a supporters' trust in the country that has the capacity to instantly process membership requests...)

Steps to process application:
1. Write name in membership book in accordance with Constitution.
2. er........ that's it.

 is right. Man U fans had a right to membership as admitted by the eventual processing of the applications. I don't understand how people can see an objection to an open admission of constitutionally dodgy behaviour as pedantic.
Once you take the dark path forever will it haunt your destiny. mmmmmmm
