- good race for favourites 5/10
- perming bets on the first 3 in the betting in exactas could provide a nice return
- side with horses with plenty of hurdling experience (even in this novice)
- choose horse who have run up a sequence of wins at 2m 4f+ (esp in graded races)
- ignore outsiders (12/1 biggest in last 10)

- bad race for favourites (1/10)
- often favours late developers (value winners jump fences after Xmas)
- 7 & 8 yo's (9/10)
- look for "resolute gallopers" or "happy to lead"
- side with chasers who have won at Sandown, Haydock or here.
