I think the Daily Telegraph chase being a handicap to replace the old Cathcart has spoiled one of the bankers of the meeting :( You could normally rely on a decent novice to win comfortably at aound 2/1 - 3/1.

One thing I did notice when looking through the formbook for this race is the chance of Fondmort. Not done anything in grade 1s and it was previously too high in the handicap to win. However it has been dropped from 157 on it's last run to 149 for today's race, which is 1lb below the rating it was on when it last won a race (over course & distance) so if it is anywhere near a double figure price it could well represent decent value each way for this race.
