This has probably been on here before but I havent bothered about this until now .Recently ,Kevin my 14 year old daughter wants to down load every thing for her pc and MP3 player .Its " Daaaaaaaad , can I have your credit card to get some more tracks "? I know nothing ,but it doesnt seem cheap.I spent about £20 for 30 tracks last night .At least if you bought the cd you physically get some thing for your money . Is there a cheaper way ?

If you buy the cd you can still put it on the mp3 player or the pc.

I know ,the point I was trying to make was that to me, down loading doesnt seem much cheaper and you dont get a disc

Agree. It's all a bit of a scam IMO.

True. It was more of an answer to the illegal downloading of free files that took off in such a big way.

There's quite a lot of free, legal music out there if you look for it.

Try the record companies own sites for instance.

Well the obvious answer to save money when downloading is to do it for free.

It's probably cheaper to buy an album online than get individual mp3 stuff.

Buy the CD, copy it to your pc, then take the CD back. Bingo

A friend of mine had a similar scam with old cd's. If you've got an old album that's scratched and skipping, buy a new copy swap the discs around and take it back for a refund.

Sadly this doesn't work that well these days as HMV and others don't do refunds, all you get is the chance to exchange the goods.

I understand LimeWire is very good and has an anonymous login but don't get the full version. That's what I've been told. And you can get it from www.download.com. Apparently. I wouldn't know myself. No Sir. :nono:
