Manuel in the Div 1 season. Tony Finnegan. Steve Jones.
Some others will hit me.
I always really hate that feeling when you get into the ground that if x / y is / are playing we'll be up against it from the start.

I know he's loved (at least liked) by many, but when I heard "Matt Somner" I knew we were 1-0 down at least already.

Somner at Bristol City away last year was a depressing sound admittedly. One of Allen's biggest errors?

Mark Fleming, Wilf Rostron, Murray Jones, Clive Goodyear, Ashley Bayes, Colin Scott, Jamie Bates ('cos it usually meant that Evans or Millen weren't playing).......................I'm sure there's more that I'll think of.

I remember hearing Rostron and Godfrey were playing against Hull 1991-2 and it transpired it was in the centre of midfield - I turned to my friend and said we've lost this. I think we were 4-0 up at half time - shows how we can be wrong.
Ashley Bayes is of course the best answer. You've got to admire his longevity if nothing else. he was amazing at Brentford. His record of goals let in was stunning. 8 in 2 games at the start of 91-92 for example.

Dave Theobald towards the end of 01/02 when Powell was injured had the nerves jangling from the off, although to be fair to him he did quite well.
