Just changed my post, as the last time we finished bottom of a division was 1908/09 season
Felt sure there were a couple in the 70's but stand corrected

Seems Chapman is wrong. Maybe he got us confused with Arsenal.

We were bottom of the Southern League First Division 1902/3 with five points from thirty games. P30 W2 D1 L27.
The manager said that we trained well all season but it just didn't happen on the pitch.
We were also bottom of the same division in 1908/9 when the chairman said that he had put in place a 105 Year Plan that should see Brentford playing at the highest level, constantly challenging for cups and furthermore.......

Mr Chapman said LEAGUE status........1920 onwards.............not from 1889!
as has been mentioned before..............we're on for the least number of wins/points/goals scored etc and finishing bottom for the first time in a Football League season................maybe being the first team relegated in a season too.............................roll on aug 2007 and lets get this season out of our memories......................oh hang on Fitz will still be here along with the Board of Herting, Rogers etc......................great.

We deserve to finish bottom - anything else would be a travesty. We are by far and away the worst team in this division and I hope that the final league table gets firmly pinned to the cvs of those that that got us there.

That was in the Southern League. We have never finished bottom in a Football League campaign.
I don't think abee will be the only one saying Chapman out by 5pm
