So looks like I was 100% correct in my assumption the comments were not racist whatsoever,( that's why I stated that I was not a racist DER) for you to think they were indicates a deep underlying racism within yourself. And you probably think that all Welshmen are sheepsh@ggers!

It's not worth posting here anymore if your gonna delete everylittle thing that you don't like!

So I'll ask my question again:

I used to live in Hounslow Brentford and the place used to be full of people from Pakistan, the place I lived was owned by asians in fact they were everywhere and I got on with them great and am wondering do Pakistan people follow the Brentford football team?

If you consider this question racist then I pity you!

****Sorry, please use less offensive language if you don't want it edited. The bit you posted above is worded very differently to what I had to delete last time. I still wonder why you are so interested in the racial mix in West London.

Not too many. For some reason,Asian people, although fond of football, prefer not to attend. At Northampton last Saturday,I counted 5 "Asian" supporters. There may have been more.We don't get many Afro-Carribean fans either;nor Chinese or Russian http://gpgrapevine.co.uk/ubb/biggrin.gif Brentford have tried, and are still trying,to redress the situation but,I FEEL,that most Asian males prefer their own company..and their own sports clubs! However, there were many Indian supporters at the recent Fulham v India friendly.More matches like this will, surely, help the situation. Finally, all visiting fans are welcome on the GPG!

You probably don't mean any harm but many people find the term "Paki" offensive, more offensive than "sheepshagger". I'm not a linguistic historian but I imagine that the term probably became current during the waves of immigration following partition of India and the separation of Pakistan and Bangladesh (formerly East Pakistan) and not as a neutral description but as a put down.
In any case it is inaccurate as it is used to describe anyone from the Indian subcontinent, which is a large and extremely ethnically varied place (the physical, language, cultural and ethnic differences between say a Kashmiri and a Tamil are considerably greater than between any two European groups).

Anyway- to answer the question, Brentford doesn't have as big an Asian following as it should given the local population (apart from me and a few others on this board, but I could do with losing some weight!). The club ought to do more to attract them, but it doesn't and Ron Noades' outspoken (and usually quoted out of context) comments don't help much.

Thanks for the input, we have got quite a few different supporters from all nationalities following the Swans, when we played the mighty "O's" there were about 20 Jamaicans supporting us, and when we played Barnet there were about 50 Belgium's (they've got there own S.C.F.C. supporters club) we have a Scandinavian Jack on our mailing list, who came to the last home match of last season and believe it or not we have a Jack living in Siberia who reckons he can get the whole of his local singing Swansea songs, he came to the Wigan match so should be back in Russia by now so I am expecting him to post here soon.

Do you know Mike Floate?

Not personally but he used to live in Swansea and I've been to his site,

Here is an extract from him about the Vetch: The Vetch Field
I may not be Welsh but can join in the Swans fans' song of 'Swansea 'til I die' having seen the Swans rise from their re-election year to beating Leeds 5-1 in the First Division in my time living in Swansea. The years spent watching the Swans - especially Harry Griffiths' cavaliers - were the happiest footballing years of my life. There is no ground like the Vetch anywhere!
The main stand dates back to the first years of the club, the central section said to have been built in 1913, making the stand one of the oldest still used in the Football League. With the proposed move to the Morfa Stadium I wonder if the excellent Folk Museum at St. Fagans will consider rescuing this historic structure?
The covered end on the site of the former West Stand is surely the strangest cover anywhere! Those old enough to remember will still be able to visualise the brilliant old double-decker stand which was built in 1927, the floor of the upper half providing the roof line of the present cover.
The North Bank, home to the vociferous and partisan home Swans fans, is now boarded at the rear, safety concerns about the structure which was built in 1959 restricting access to the back section. The former East Terrace was re-developed in the early 80s as Swans reached the First Division. The stand may look awkward, but the original intention was to demolish the main stand and continue the new stand in its place. Perhaps if this had taken place the club may not be needing to leave the Vetch...

Strange experience at the Vetch. Quite a nice away terrace, but being served through that fence is a bit disturbing. And the loo must be the darkest dampest smelliest hole in the entire football league. If the terrace was full, there'd be nowhere for people to go other than down a rolled-up newspaper.

You'll probably have nice smelling toilets in the new stadium all lit up brightly just for you, I myself would rather we spent a bit of dosh doing up the Vetch.

As for the mesh surrounding the kiosk it is to keep you safe from the person serving;-)
