Since you were promoted to the second division, how hard has been to adjust and how many of the original division three players have stayed or how many new players have you bought?

Out of the players who have stayed how many are still first team regulars?

To be honest its virtually the same squad.

We did OK last year and had a really good start. Unfortunatley we had a bad run of injuries and even worse luck. I think most Bees fans would agree that if the season was two ganmes longer we would have been relegated along with but Cardiff and S****horpe, with whom we shared promotion.

Having said that we have made a few additions to the squad this summer (although only two are probably destined for the first team immediatley) and the supporters (whingers excluded) seam quite optimistic

The gaps ARE getting wider between the respective divisions its true.Generally,if you get caught between playing football and battling for everything, you may come unstuck. The most succesful teams play the best football in this division BUT have a physical presence which can be utilised in times of trouble. We ARE getting the balance right at GP..it may take us one more year to be a top of the table side.Still-the play-offs beckon as many clubs have similar problems. From what I have seen of Swansea,I fancy your chances a lot better than those of Cardiff last season.Hollins has done a great job at the Vetch, proving that not all ex-Chelsea players are scum!!!!Hope you enjoy your visit to Brentford.(but not too much)! http://gpgrapevine.co.uk/ubb/wink.gif

I think the difference is that there are a lot of teams in Div 2 who have the ability to go up and miss out because of injuries, inconsistency etc, whereas there are still quite a few teams in Div 3 which are basically not very good at all and which can sometimes spring a surprise result.

I think the overall standard of Div 2 improved a fair bit in the season we were away because of the influx of money across a number of the bigger teams and the presence of "big" teams like Man City and Stoke.

I'd have thought Swansea's biggest problem might be goalscoring given that they only got 51 all last season as champions (what did we get in 17th- about the same?). Hope that they don't remedy that this Saturday!
