If you get pissed off with bids for the players you don't want to sell just set the value for that player as high as possible and nobody is interested after that.

Sadly, this doesn't work if they have a minimum release fee clause. Some players are very reluctant to sign contracts without such a clause or with a very high figure attached to it. Paul Dillon (my best defender and possibly best player) was on the verge of joining Newcastle for a ludicrously small fee (which I had stupidly agreed to). But I offered him a new and much more lucrative contract to stay and he turned the Magpies down. So, if you are about to lose a player you don't want to see go, try offering him a better contract - you never know!
