well after some tinkering with the data editor on cm97/98 (just to get it up-to-date, you understand http://gpgrapevine.co.uk/ubb/wink.gif ), i have now reached the year 2005, where i'm 13 points clear of Newcastle at the top of the Prem with 15 games to go, having won the 3 of the last 4 premierships... meanwhile fulham are languishing in the third, bankrupt, and with a suspiciously large record defeat http://gpgrapevine.co.uk/ubb/wink.gif 46-0vs Crewe http://gpgrapevine.co.uk/ubb/eek.gif
of the initial squad, the survivors in my team are Boxall (Ire international), Marshall (but he's going this season, too old now!!), Rowlands (Ire international captain and my captain, best midfielder in the world!!), Evo (Welsh international captain) and Folano (Ire international)... of the others, Ijah plays for Man Utd and is a rock in the England defence, Powelly plays for bottom-of-the-league West Ham, but is their best player by a mile, tho he can't get a transfer cos they value him at £12m, Quinny and Del-Boy are working wonders at Palace, and Lloydy has returned from an unsuccesful spell in Italy to play for Br*msc*m http://gpgrapevine.co.uk/ubb/mad.gif
oh, and Brentford play at Feltham Arena, capacity 25,000 http://gpgrapevine.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif laters

I'm still working off an unedited CM2000-1 in my first stint as Bees manager. It's April 2005 and I am just about to take on Middlesbrough in the FA Cup semi-final. Sitting in 7th place in the Premiership, but out of reach of the Champions League places and probably the UEFA ones too.
Team is:
GK: Craig O'Brien (signed from the juniors, he's 19 and the papers are calling for him to play for the full England team!)
CB: Paul Dillon (signed from Rotherham, a superb player who should be on everyone's shopping list at the start of the game)
CB: Hermann Hreidarsson (signed from Ipswich, because Darren Powell was struggling a bit in the Prem)
DMR: Michael Duff (made the position his own, so Boxall was sold to Tranmere!)
DML: Ijah (Ijah, Ijah, Ijah - say no more!)
DMC: David Livermore (can't remember where he came from)
MC: David Fox (another one I can't remember where I found him, but he's getting better and better)
MC: Keiron Dyer (but he's not that great)
AMC: Jean-Phillipe Javary (asked to leave eighteen months ago, so I put him on the list and dropped him - no-one came in for him, so he's back in the side, narrowly ahead of Paul Ifill, signed from Millwall)
SC: Tonton Zola Mokouko (oh what a player!)
SC: Kevin O'Connor (narrowly ahead of Mark McCammon)

Update.....
Finished season 2004-5 in seventh spot in the Premiership but the season was crowned in glory by winning the FA Cup!! The following season I made it to the third round of the UEFA Cup before losing to Roma. A bit of ingenious low budget squad strengthening saw Brentford finish fourth in the Premiership, one point off second spot but 15 behind runaway winners Southampton.
Buy of the season was Dwight Yorke, who I got on a Bosman from West Ham, who I guess must have let him go because he is 33. He ended up as Player of the Year!

Dan, I can't see the point in editing the game, that just defeats the object of playing it. Are you really that bad as a manager? Surely you would get much more satisfaction if you stuck at it and achieved success using an unedited game!

Not necessarily, Kempy. You can edit it to chance little niggling inaccuracies- and to add yourself and your mates on of course!!

lol, SHUT UP you sound like my dad!! cos i take the easy way out of things http://gpgrapevine.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif i've said before, i do have an unedited game where i guided Chievo di Verona to the UEFA cup from the depths of the Italian Serie B, but i find making the bees european champions a lot more satisfying http://gpgrapevine.co.uk/ubb/biggrin.gif

Havent touched any team unless adding Bees 'rejects' to them or taking Bees from them ie Pinamonte, McCammon etc. I'll look it up, but I think they sold a lot of players and had a coupla bad managers.

Just taken Brechin City from the Scottish Third to the First Division, winning the Scottish Cup and League Cup, yes I can't believe it either. Once you have beaten a few top clubs, the team has confidence and can beat anyone, I beat Rangers and Celtic quite often. We got to the Second Round of the Uefa Cup which wasn't bad. I was on the way to the Premiership and got offered the Aberdeen job, moved and won the Scottish Cup. Currently 2nd in the league and in the Fourth Round of the Uefa Cup. All my players are under 25, average age 21 and have cost £850,000 or less.
-Is it me or do you find it really easy to make a club wealthyish even if they have zilch to start with, Aberdeen currently have £12million after starting with -£1million, thats in less than a season.

On CM00/01, second season, top of the 1st - with a little tinkering of the reputation figures - Bees have a 50,000 allseater stadium with undersoil heating and retractable roof. Just lost in FA Cup final to Spurs 4-3 having Marlon Beresford sent off in the last minute - off he goes!!!
Upfront you want:
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Kennedy Bakircioglu
plus got Don Hutchison with the proceeds of Rowlands - averaged 8.47 last season!!!
Fulham are third, but I beat them 3-0 away and 4-1 at home!!!
