not neccesarily the best you've seen us score, also the atmosphere, importance, etc
although i'm still gonna say evo from the halfway line http://gpgrapevine.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif
i went to the match, a top-of-the-table clash at the time, with a mate, and our english teacher from college Mr McMechan, who's a MAD preston fan, was there as well (in the away end!)
we were one nil up, and i was having a great laugh, cos i was in Block B and shouting as loud as i could "McMeckers, what's the score?" and i knew he heard!! anyways, they score, and he starts giving it the large, he was really pumped and started giving it all that, and i was laughing away, when all of a sudden the New Road erupted.... i'd been fortunate to see the ball sail in, but didn't understand what was going on really... i was badgering my mate for ages, saying "what the hell happened? did we score from the halfway line?" and then spent the next ten minutes with my jaw to the ground thinking "i've just been to a match where the greatest goal of all time was scored... and i missed it!" Anyway, they equalised thru a quality goal by hypnotist Paul McKenna, and we finished honours even
I rushed home and told my dad we'd just seen the goal of the century, and he said "yeah bollox", so i MADE him watch sky news, and they did a round-up of the footy, showing the evans goal.... and my dad said "flukey miskick" http://gpgrapevine.co.uk/ubb/rolleyes.gif but i know he was impressed http://gpgrapevine.co.uk/ubb/biggrin.gif
I saw Mr McMechan at college on the Monday, and asked him about the goal, and he said "i missed it cos i was laughing at you" and i said "same here"

Best goal as far as atmosphere for me has to be Robert Taylor's equaliser against Bristol City in the second leg of the playoffs. I just remember there being a real sense of panic, but when he hit that strike into the far corner, the whole of GP just erupted. I think at that point we truly knew we were Wembley bound.
One to compare with Dan's story was when we played Millwall at home the year we got relegated. Me, Kempy and my brother could see about 10 of our mates lording it up in the Millwall end while they were 1-0 up, but to see their faces when Aspinall slotted in the winner was an absolute treat.

Neil Smillie against Bristol Rovers in the Leyland Daf Cup at Griffin Park takes some beating, mid way in his own half, picked up the ball ghosts past the Rovers defence to slot it in the net.......a god!!!!!!!!

Roger Stanislaus (before the drug bust) in the League Cup first leg away at Fulham. I can't remember the year exactly: 1988-89 I think. We had gone 1-0 up early on, went 2-1 down after Andy Feeley gave away a penalty. Near the end, Stanislaus (a defender who rarely scored, youngsters) got the ball deep in the Brentford half, did an amazing run past a couple of players, and blasted from 25/30 yards. I can honestly say it is the only time that seeing a goal go in has made me scream involuntarily. We won the second leg, too: Blisset in extra time. The fact that it was against Fulham added to the pleasure.

I have got an awful memory, but my fave is when we scored the 7th goal against Plymouth, and I didn't know how to celebrate. I think I did some really mongy jump, but then burst into laughter because no-one else really reacted, instead they were looking around as if to say, what do we do?

Paul Evans' goal V Swansea at home 98-99 season, a cracking strike that hit the bar and went in.
Crowd went mad singing"Champions" for the rest of the night.

After much hesitaion for a number of weeks I finally couldn't resist putting a few quid on Martin Grainger to be the first goalscorer at 16/1. About 3 minutes into the game (york city maybe?) A Brentford fee kick right in front of the opposition supporters and just outside the area was perfectly struck by the man himself and as it hit the net I jumped about 3 feet in the air, knocked someone over and had trouble explaining my over reaction once he got to his feet. The game that day was well and truly over for me by then although i believe the bees got about 2 more that day, it was a sunny day, went for a beer after and left very drunk at closing time after some awful karaoke by Brentford supporters went on around us.
And that's all i remember.

One that sticks in my mind is Lee Luscombe's goal at Orient several years ago. I think we ended up losing 4-2 but when Luscombe scored I went potty and charged down the steps on the terracing and knocked some bloke flat on his face.
It turns out that this bloke would appear to be disabled with a very serious limp and I've felt bad about it ever since. He appears to go to every game so if you know who I'm talking about, please pass on my apologies!

all great goals. My favourite goals aren't 40 yards shots or important goals but those take on the whole team twice ones.
As i didn't go to Peterboro for Folano, it'll have to be Denny Mundee's goal versus Brizzle Rovers, what a hattrick!!

The BEST goal was Evan's goal against Preston, although I remember Luscombe's goal at Orient which was superb. Evo's at Burnley and Mundee's against Bristol Rovers were also amazing. We also shouldn't forget Folan's against Cambridge.
The most important was Blisset's at Peterboro'. The whole place went nuts, it was such an amazing feeling. The Taylor goal in the Play-Offs produced a similar reaction but nothing beat that goal.
I also remeber when Rapley equalised at Rovers on the day we got relegated as being a truly emotional goal. When we thought we could stay up.

Haven't made my mind up yet about the best goal but the funniest in my mind was the goal that wasn't by Marcus Gayle who slammed in a fantastic freekick from outside the area in front of the Brook Road & ran the length of the pitch celebrating only to find that he was the only one in the ground who hadn't noticed it was indirect!

Unfortunately I didn't go to Burnley last season but the Evo goal against Preston will stick long in my mind. I was one of the few in B Block not eyeballing the PNE fans who were celebrating and just watched in amazement as Evo launched this rocket, but it wasn't until you actually realised that the keeper was off his line what he was trying to do. I tried to attract the attention of my mates who were still looking the other way but they all missed it. Best bit was celebrating and seeing the smile wiped off the Preston fans faces so quickly.

For shear emotion I would have to say Evo's at Burnley. I remember trying to scream but I was in such a state no sound was actually coming out of my mouth!
Other personal favouites would have to be Bob Taylor's equaliser against Millwall the year we got relegated.
Nick Forster's winner in the 4-3 victory over Bradford in 1995.
Rowlands 89th minute goal at the New Den last season - although I have blocked the rest of the match from my memory.
Gleghorn's goal at the Cottage - oh the delirium!
Not forgetting Folan's wonder goal at London Road.
