What happened to Denny Mundee because I can rememebr Vale trying to sign him from you once but now he's vanished from the face of the earth. I thought he was supposed to be a really good winger.
Thinking about it you are a bit like Vale and have had a good team in the past. Dearden, Ashby, Bates, Anderson, Mundee, Webb, Forster, Taylor, Bent, Asaba. Even before then you had Holdsworth who Vale also had. If you would of kept it together maybe you would of been Premeirship or something like that.
People say Vale would of been Premeirship as well if we would of kept ours together, but ours was a process where we started off my selling Andy Jones, then used the money to buy Van Der Laan, swapped him for Lee Mills and Jon Mccarthy, sold them for 2.5 million, bought in Ainsworth for half a million, sold him for 2 million and so on and so on. We couldnt of bought in more if we had not of sold in the first place so it was always difficult to say keep them together.

i remember he was brought to the club as a fullback,he was nothing special but the moment he was thrown up front it was unbelievable. i will never forget his performance in the home game against bristol rovers, we lost 3-4 but denny got a superb hat trick if my memory serves me right. the
legandry denny mundee shuffle was in evidence a lot that day. i for one will always have fond memories of his brief but excellent spell as a bees striker. if anyone ever locates him then you can pass on my regards and im sure a lot of other bees fans
too.

yes you're right he did get three against bristol rovers. i got to gp late, and was told by the turnstile operator "don't waste your money, we're 3 down already" went in to see Denny on fire and playing like his life depended on it. when his third goal went in i don't think i've ever gone so beserk at a football match, and i'm including man city, peterboro etc etc. he very nearly got a fourth. looking back on it , it was probably good that that one didn't go in as i think my brain would have exploded.
Denny Mundee overrated? not in my opinion.
my utmost respect goes out to Denny, wherever he is and whatever he's doing.

Now there's a blast from the past!
Wasn't it Mundee who missed a penalty against Huddersfield in the '95 playoffs without even bothing to take a run-up?

Remember starting his song (cleverly changing the words of Kevin Godfrey's song) with SDC Gav whilst standing on the side terrace at the Goldstone ground. Denny was right-back that day and gave us a very funny look.:suspect:
