OK, it's only just over two years ago, but this was one of my all time top Bees games. We'd lost the first leg up at the Hawthorns, but Kevin Rapley had got a late goal to make it only 2-1 and everything to play for.
WBA were going well in the First Division - two divisions above us - but we tore them to pieces in the second leg at Griffin Park. 3-0 flattered them. But above all, I remember the game for the non-stop singing in the New Road. We never stopped for 90 minutes! I think the atmosphere that night set us up beautifully for getting behind the team for the whole of that season.

That was the best atmosphere game I can remember, especially that 2nd half.
When Bates scored we thought it might be tense. I honestly can't rember the 2nd goal.
But then Owusu scored a tap in at the far post for his first Bees goal. And then the Owuuuuuuu that followed it. I lost my voice that night as everyone cheered and sang the Bees on.

I remember going absolutly mental when Jason Pearcy saved from Lee Hughes 2 minutes before our first goal. The second goal was a cross by Watson which someone headed in and Charlie poked it in!

I REALLY wanted Lloydie to score in that game (cos I think he hadn't til then) and I just knew as sson as he got the ball in the box, that he was gonna score for some reason. I was celebrating before it went in - but it wasn't he best of goals was it?
OOOOOOOWUUUUUUUUUUUUUSUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!

My main memory of this game, was seeing Jamie Bates giving Lee Hughes (who was at that point rated as the best thing since sliced bread) a bit of verbal as he was man marking him that game, during a break in play.
As Hughes turned to walk away, Jamie faked to give him a huge right hander... Sure enough ginge flinched like a schoolgirl :)
The look on Hughes' face was a picture, especially as he'd been marked out of the game by our glorious brothel keeper! :)
Does anyone else remember seeing this?

Was it not Danny Cullip's last game for the Bees? Went down in a heap with a cruciate injury and Hughes decided that this played him onside, so proceeded to goal hang until Cullip was carried off.
What was the attendance that night?

I do remember that sort of. Also that Bates was trying to head across goal when his header went in. I wasn't complaining.

Just checked, it was 4,664. Must be the best atmosphere ever for a sub 5,000 crowd at Griffin Park.

also remember bees 4-3 win against blackburn when we were 6-2 down on aggregate only for cadette to spark a revival where we scored 3 times and the roar of the crowd when we pushed for the goal that would have levelled the tie was mad.and the crowd was something like 3770

just about to post about the Blackburn Rovers game, well spotted Nick Logan....what a game...think the Rovers game was Noisier as it was the whole of New Road singing...what was the crowd for the Bristol Rovers game in the DAF cup, which went to penalties, remember a good atmosphere at that one, with Gas in similar voice...oh the days....
