Below are details of THE KENT CUP which have been forwarded to me.

The date is Saturday 16 June 2001
The only important question, that I can see that they haven't provided an answer for is time of day
They reckon the final will be about 1pm; so I'd reckon it's about a 9.30am start (but don't quote me on that)

If anyone else has any more questions, please forward them to me and I'll do my best to find an answer.

I've entered ONE team for Brentford, so far but will probably enter a second.
I've had enought interest, certainly, for two teams:
The following people have expressed an interest, if you would like to be added to the list, please let me know. Entry is EIGHT POUNDS per person, I will need paying sooner rather than later as I've had to front up the money in advance.

Players interested:
Scratchy
Matt Dolman
Shaggy
Gary Paul
PJ
Minky
Jon Lindley
Rick Scales
Trandy
Leigh Miah

The InterGills are proud to release details of a tournament. After careful
consideration the date of the tournament is to be SATURDAY 16th JUNE 2001.

More details on the Kent Cup 2001 can now be found on the InterGills website
at:-

http://www.intergills.co.uk/kentcup_menu.htm

At the POWERLEAGUE CENTRE, CATFORD, SOUTH EAST LONDON. Cost is #42.50 per team

The tournament format is:-
There will be 8 groups of 4 teams. Each team plays each other once over 2 x
10 minute halves. Believe me with the size of the pitch and if it is a hot
day (which we hope) it will really seem a long time.

The top 2 teams qualify to the next phase which is a straight knock out.
Whilst the bottom 2 will go into a plate competition, which is also a
straight knock out. All length of games will be the same.

The games will be properly officiated. Pitches are astro turf style, but not
as hard.

This tournament is aimed at bringing rival supporters from other football
clubs together, raise money for charity, and promote the Internet.

We are seeking support & sponsorship (in various different ways) to make
this tournament a success.

Former Gills favourite and now Community officer Steve Lovell has also
agreed to bring a team of Gills Vets to compete against a couple of the
teams involved.

We anticipate 32 teams in total which will make at least 200 players
involved. A big and ambitious day.

You can enter as many teams as you wish, first come first served. All
entries to be in by 30th April 2001. (don`t forget it`s 5-a-side - max 9
players per team).

Good luck, more details will be provided as time moves on.

InterGills
===========

The InterGills are a team made up from online supporters, and no we are not
computer nerds. We are normal every day people that got together to form a
team to represent the team we all watch and support. Gillingham F.C

Internet football is become bigger all the time, now in our 4th season the
InterGills are playing more and more teams from other clubs week in week
out. As we compete in a "friendly" league and a more serious cup and once a
year a annual World Net tournament.

In total the InterGills have played in more than 50 games and played against
teams from near by Charlton to Glasgow Rangers.

For full details of the InterGills visit the website www.intergills.co.uk (http://www.intergills.co.uk)
and full details of this tournament.

sponsors of Gillingham F.C "Medway News" who print all our match reports.

So far this season we have entertained the following teams of supporters:
Luton, QPR, Colchester, Birmingham, Ipswich, Brentford & Arsenal.

We have travelled to the following teams for games:
Luton, Coventry, Colchester, Crystal Palace.

Fixtures arranged so far for the rest of this season:
West Ham (H), Ipswich (A), Brentford (A), Watford (H), Sheff Utd (H)

Tournament Details
===================

It is a 1 day 5 aside tournament with 32 teams entering and will be taking
place at the Power League Centre in Catford. Teams associated with the IFA
(Internet Football Association) have been invited to compete, and currently
interest is more than capable of exceeding the 32 teams.

The Power League are UK's leading 5 aside centre, with branches nationwide.
Facilities include 12 pitches, Excellent bar facilities, changing rooms,
showers, Satellite TV, easy to reach just off of the M25,

Sponsorship
============

We are looking for someone to sponsor the tournament, and also for sponsors
for the programme which will be sold on the day. If interested please
contact us for further discussions.

Charity
========

We intend to put the money back into grassroots football by donating money
to improve football in the local community of Kent. Kent being the largest
county in the UK but only has 1 football league club, it is also intended to
split the money 50 / 50 with the InterGills fund. As the cost of running a
team like us is very costly because of the travelling and other tournaments
that we compete in.

Gillingham Vets
================

Led by Steve Lovell who played over 200 games for Gillingham scoring just
under 100 goals. He joined the Gills from Millwall where he made 111
appearances scoring 46 goals, he also scored in an amazing 11 consecutive
games for them. Steve has also played for Stockport, Crystal Palace &
Bournemouth.
