This year's WorldNET competition for Supporters Teams will be held on weekend of 14/15 July at Residential campus of Leeds University (which is just on the outskirts of the city, towards Headingley/Kirkstall).
The cost will be £15 per person for match fees (pitch hire/referees/balls/nets/flags and all that paraphernalia) + £50 per head, B+B accommodation at the University (this is based on two night's accommodation, Friday and Saturday night, £30 per night for one night only).
Accommodation is spartan, shall we say, but it's clean and everyone gets their own room and is perfectly adequate for a couple of nights.
The total cost will therefore, be £65 per person (+ TRAVEL COSTS + BEER MONEY!)
All games are XI-a-side; on grass; with proper refs (and, I think this year, independent linesmen)
The plan, I think, is for 48 teams entering, so that would mean eight groups of six, each game lasting 30 minutes.
All the group games take place on the Saturday (early start, first games approx 8am) and go on through till about 6pm.
On the Sunday the top two from each group play in a straight knock out; whilst the remaining 32 slug it out in a Plate Competition.
Last year, we came fourth in our group and exceeded our expectations in reaching the last eight of the Plate Competition, only going out to eventual runners-up West Ham on Golden Goal.
If last year's event is half as good as last year, then it will be a top event. (Second to England beating Pakistan in the Cricket it was my personal highlight of last year).
There is a possibility that we could enter a second team if numbers merit
I've already paid our team's entrance (£150!), so I'd appreciate some money back ASAP.
£5 deposit will reserve a place; and I'd need the remaining balance by June.
As for travel arrangements; well we're cross that one nearer the time when we have final numbers, last year we shared four cars.
