If the pitch is that much shorter than requirements, the referee should not let the game be played! Are you going to let the league know about it being to short?

So every goalkeeper clearance ends up in the opposite six yard box Real end to end game!!!

That is similar to the far pitch at Tentelow Lane, which is at the minimum required size with only three yards between the edge of the penalty area and the touchline!!!

this pitch is 84 yards long and 100 yards is the minimum...meadhurst has similar box to touchlines ratios..

Surely the Chiswick league won't allow that ? Marble Hill and Bushy Park in Hampton Hill are both small and passable but Oriel school is a kids pitch.

Alxion Castle 3 - Feltham Cowboys 3 (Sunday last)

Great advert for Sunday League footy, very competitive, hard fought match.
Alxion should have won easily but for some woeful finishing and a couple of decent penalty shouts turned down ended up letting the Cowboys back in it at the death.

Word to the wise for the bods here in the Chiswick and District....Feltham Cowboys are no mugs. They soaked up a lot of pressure but kept their heads and played themselves back into the game. Most of their play goes through a skinny, lanky bloke called "Billy" (he's got a blond mohican type haircut so you cant miss him) Good feet and knows what he's doing but doesn't like to get "stuck in" much. Stop him, you stop them.

I'm suprised by the smug arrogance of people playing in a basement sunday league division.
Teams like Transit deserve a place as much as Hanworth city who should have asked to enter the division above as there is space for teams in each division.
Hanworth want to be the big fish this year but a few of their lads don't have time on their side so if they'll miss out next year when they get promoted and new blood gets signed up.
As for that division it looks like it might split in two with Hanworth city walking it and the likes of Duke Rangers vets, Hanworth park, Feltham cowboys res, Oisin Celtic and Transit fighting it out for best of the worst.

no entirely true, the first team walked away and left only the reserves so we had no choice what division to be in, just look at last season mid table finish and this seasons winning run has come as a big surprise and my comment about transit is based upon the integrity of the league should not allow teams to compete if they cannot give the opposition a decent game

Our match in the HAyes and District Premier legue at Brunel University was abandoned after 40 minutes. You literally could barely see anything cos of the rain and the keeper was struggling to get his goalkicks out of the area. Truly mental!

The referee said that apart from being dangerous he couldnt see what was hapening so abandoned as he 'didnt want to get everything wrong'. lots of raised eyebrows followed!

If Transit Transport want to enjoy a game on a Sunday morning why should't they ? They have a nice pitch at Old Lats, cause no grief and enjoy it.Comments like yours remind me of why i've have decided to hang up my boots on a Sunday and stick to Saturdays instead.

You could of course email Bob Davis Or Jonathon Weeks and tell them your thoughts or perhaps if you feel clubs like Transit Transport are a hindrance change leagues. The West Middlesex is the strongest around for miles and all the county cups every year are won by sides from it.Clubs like Beavers and Domine dominated in the 90's now Bedfont Sunday and Barnes Albion are the pacesetters.

I am sure the West Middlesex league would welcome you as they vet every Sunday league club to ensure they meet the standard of Hanworth City

Surely if you have 2 teams and 1 has to drop out, then the reserves become the 1st team and you drop out your reserves from the league.
Thats how it happened in my day anyway. Do you still call yourself Hanworth City Reserves?

In fairness Hanworth, it's not really a suprise that your top of the league. When we played you earlier in the year, you had 7 players playing for you that were in the Duke of York side 2 years ago that won the bottom league by a mile, and they were Forty Acres 4 years before that who also won the bottom league by a mile.
The bottom division is exactly for the likes of Transit who are totally aware of their shortcomings but jusy want a game of football against, hopefully a similar standard of player.
I'd argue that the likes of Hanworth City this year are doing grass roots more harm than Transit by entering leagues they are too good for and making a mockery of the that division and demoralising the poorer player by beating them 13-1. No doubt you'll win this league and those players will more onto another bottom league team in a couple of years when they can't be bothered to play in a league they may actually get tested at.

The fact you beat (albeit a much weakened) Feltham Cowboys 6-2 shows that if the side had any true ambition they'd be 2 divisions higher.

This isn't a pop at you Hanworthbee, but you must see my point about the players that keep re appearing to win the bottom division.

Hanworth I am suprised at you. This last comment shows you really DON'T understand the level you are playing at.

May I ask you this...if you get promoted next year and play a team and they beat you more than 3-0 do they have the right to say this about YOU?

Whatever level you play at (up to a certain point) you'll get a level of inconsistency in teams you play. The trick is to understand that's the nature of amatuer leagues not alot more than that. To say a team aren't good enough shows arrogance .

its true that you say we (although I am injured) should not be in this league although at the start of the season the new manager brought in players who get played to pay on Saturdays, last season was a different story as the reserves were average, I didnt know any of them and if I did would have told Bob div 2 would not be the right league for them, personally its not very enjoyable to thrash teams every week but i dont think we are really that good as when we came up against a good side in the county cup we lost and am almost glad im injured again....I do agree though that some of our players just want the glory and thats wrong. After reading your thoughts I accept my views on Transit were wrong and I apologise
