Today, I have been given a strong for word for Aviate in the 4.00 at Kempton. She has worked well with the yard's smarter fillies and should be up to going well in the first at Kempton, even though Contredanse and Fantastic Cruix have shown enough to win a small race. We shall see whether the curse of the GPG will strike again with Aviate.
Now, how many of you will have backed Aviate today? I bet everyone would have (rightly) been put off after the past few days. Typical.

Simon doesn't appear to be in love with the game at present, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they pull the plug soon; either that or going into veteran handicaps only with him. Morgan Be looks the each way value in that on ground that he loves.

It looks a good day's racing today, though I am concentrating on Ascot because the ground conditions are too testing at Haydock to come to any strong conclusions, though Pepe Simo should win the first on the bridle to complete a quickfire hat trick over hurdles.

I like the look of Fix The Rib (2.05), Karabak (2.35) and Dunraven Storm (3.45) at Ascot, the latter a very highly rated horse from the Philip Hobbs yard, apparently their top bumper prospect for the season, though may just sharpen up for this outing in what looks a decent little race. Hoping for at least one of these to come in to go alongside a Brentford win.

Charlie Manns Shining Gale is different class to these in my opinion but the worry is that top weight in the heavy ground at Haydock

I think Court In Motion should go well in the 3.45 at Newbury tomorrow. It looks a good race, and Henderson's Oscar Whisky is going to be the short priced favourite, but I think that Court In Motion should at least be able to place. He is a half brother to Bensalem and is apparently pleasing in his homework; trainer said he was a long striding horse who'll need plenty of cut, so the going should be to his liking, and current odds of 9 on betfair look decent enough.

There are a couple at Newbury who I think could run well today. Firstly, in the 2.05, Helpston could run well at likely decent odds (currently 23 on betfair); unexposed, bred to excel over trip and ground, rated his trainer's top prospect, has some classy form in the book and think he'll run well in what looks a wide open race.

The other is Torra Fecco in the 3.45, which looks a corker of a race!! He won very well on his debut at Wincanton, and it usually pays to take note when a Lavelle horses wins on debut; she mentioned him as potentially being as good as Crack Away Jack and think he'll run well in what looks a good race with Bellvano and Henry King two other nice prospects in the field. Tocca Ferro is currently 6.8 on betfair. Just a couple to have a look at.

I'll be there tomorrow so anything else that comes up would be appreciated.

Not even he would want to go near that at the moment.

Forget that DBee fella, it's time for me to make an arse of myself (forgive the pun) since I've had the chance to look at tomorrows card.

Hey Big Spender in the 1.35 represents a stable in great form and should like the underfoot conditions and run a race at a fair price.

In the 2.05, Moon Over Miami will win a race like this one day but I can't see it being tomorrow and so I'm going to suggest Pop. Pop goes well fresh and arguably would have beaten a horse I mentioned the other day, Shining Gale, at Ludlow first time out last season. Shining Gale won off 145 the other day and so Pop off 138 could be interesting and holds an entry for a Class 1 race at Cheltenham in December. The only dodgy area for me is his jumping as it has let him down in the past.

Killyglen is worth a look in the Hennessy; Trafalgar Road (3.15) hasn't been heavily penalised for winning well at Haydock last time and Shillingstone has a favourites chance in the last.

My money has already been put where my mouth is and I see the 20/1 has now evaporated and become 14's

Finian's Rainbow should win the 12.25 at Newbury. He made an impressive winning debut, beating a subsequent winner, and is from the Henderson yard who can literally do no wrong at present.

As for the Hennessy my selection in that would be Gone To Lunch as he will relish the stamina test this will provide, has won around Newbury before, is still open to improvement and has proven himself in big field handicap chases before, albeit unsuccessfully so far. Must go well at around 20/1.

Enjoy the day.
