I do hope you're right, oh for Schlupp for the rest of the season.

    Hayes. AN Other up front.

Could this work? Would we be too open in midfield.

Who would do all the messy stuff and covering?

    Would we miss Diagouraga/Adeyemi?

    Is this worth a try?

More likely to be a 451 with only hayes up top and Dave added to the midfield
I'd go for it with AN Other being Spencer at least for now.

Would like to see it against Borrhamwood as surely they won't overrun that midfield (all be it we may not have the option if Huddersfield don't want Spencer cup tied).

It might leave us a little open in midfield but I see several positives:

    1. We would be more adventurous.

    2. With the exception of Forrester all of the current crop of midfielders look much more comfortable in the middle

    3. I've lost count of the number of times our passing game has broken down because there's been no one out wide in an advanced position

    4. Whilst we'd have less in midfield, I don't think we'd have any fear that Clayton wouldn't track back to assist Logan when needed

(maybe the full back )
So given that I said 'with our current squad', how would you set up/who would you play which you feel would give a better goal threat? This isn't me backing Clayton until the end, it's the question I keep asking myself but haven't yet answered!

Well I'd go with Hayes/Spencer for a start although we don't really have many options. I'd be happy to see Clayton used wide right but maybe only in selected games where we can get away with Forshaw in the middle as Douglas as the only enforcer might make us a bit lightweight in away games. Ideally we would have another striking option with pace . What I do know is that we won't push ourselves into a promotion place if we persist with a striker whose goals only come in 3/4 game bursts about twice a season if you are lucky.
Not in the inner circle so can only give opinion not fact.

I think your probably right about promotion but for now we have to work with what we've got and it looks like we agree that Clayton has to play, whether it's up front or out wide. My concern about Hayes and Spencer is that defences could play a high line and we would struggle to get behind then. If we went with this we would need Harry and Clayton using their pace to feed off the strikers, either way Clayton starts!

Personally I think a 451/433 with Harry and Clayton either side of Hayes would work and get Clayton on the ball in deeper areas. This formation is criticised but it allows Uwe to utilise three CMs as well as Harry, Clayton and Hayes and i think it may be effective!

I was thinking of a Young striker in the Schlupp or berahino style also agree with your assessment of Clayton although I would cut out the middle man and try and move him on to release funds for a striker, 3.5k a week should get us an improvement.

Hopefully this is the start of a goal scoring run for him.

What a shame we fecked up with Berahino ,it seems like he's almost pulling Posh out of the relegation zone on his own

He's scored a couple of goals against an erratic Derby side, that is all.

Sorry, don't see it that way no 18 year old loanee is bigger than the club. He may go onto become a superstar but what signal would it send out to other players if a kid on loan was allowed to get away with disrespecting the manager?

Vote BLUNSTONE - maybe out of touch but closer than what we already have.

At least he could spend a night out and not worry about driving home. "Let the train take the strain".......
