I've said it before about Farid which is basically that he is going to thrive off crosses and aerial balls. He will also provide CD a lot of chances to score. I think he will be a good addition to the team but I'd be surprised to see him score 10+ goals given the system of football we play. Under Andy Scott however and we could be talking a bit more. Our best chance would be to re-sign Jake Bidwell who was fantastic at crosses last season and I might be a bit more generous with the goals for Farid. I still believe another quality striker is needed to be added to provide tough competition.
I thought from the youtube video showing all his goals from last season he would be more likely to score goals in a Rosler team. Logan and Bidwell (presuming he signs back on loan) cross from deep frequently plus Saunders (who never really got a chance under AS) crosses and set pieces are fantastic. Donaldson was a huge factor is Gary getting so many goals last seaon and Farid is probably a lot more mobile, stronger and a better finisher than him. I have a good feeling about this pairing. Hopefully they will be a bit like Roberts and Ellington when Wigan got promoted.

Mate of mine who works in Aberdeen most of the time says they are distraught up there. FEA was Aberdeen's main target apparently!!

They are saying it speaks volumes about both Aberdeen and Scottish football in general that he chose to come to us!

F E A could be the new John Dick - they both come from Scotland after all!

After supporting the bees for 14 years finally Falkirk have repaid you. you see I was there in the terraces when Richie cadette was lashing them in...did not even know where Brentford was but I knew that's where he came from. Then tony parks graced brockville...they were the days so when I moved down I knew I was not going to some shite team called rotten ham, Chelsea or arsenal ...no lads it was Brentford for me....and I have spent some shit nights in darkest November in the cold and rain on a wednesday when most of you probably had something better to do when some old guy behind me said the immortal words....and I quote " it's only the real Brentford fans out tonight" that warmed me right up and made me know I'm Brentford till I die. To all you boys that don't know my boys up the road put me in the picture...Farid is the ****IN MAN...an absolute LEDGE.....I cannot wait to get to see him play for the bees....

Hi guys, another Falkirk fan here

Just to repeat what other fans have said, your club have made a real coup by signing Farid.

If you get quality balls in to him, he knows exactly where the goal is. Big, strong, and creates a great bond with the supporters. He played a lone striking role for us pretty much all season, but I don't see why he couldn't play up top with someone else, preferably with pace.

I see a few of you are concerned at the standard of league Farid has been playing in. It's hard to compare leagues in Scotland and England directly. What I can tell you is that his striking partner, Kallum Higginbotham, was sold to Huddersfield in January and has fitted in well down there from what I have seen of him.

Farid has also played against Celtic, Rangers (scoring 2 goals) and Dundee United (scoring once) so it's safe to say he's been tested against against better defenses. I see Clayton Donaldson is your other striker, if it's any consolation to you he was pretty awful when he played in Scotland

Best of luck to you and Farid for the new season, hope the coin is kissed plenty of times!

Thanks to you and all the other Falkirk fans for taking the time to give us some feedback. Best wishes for the season - hope you don't have to navigate past Rangers for promotion!

Or, I hope you make a stack of money and enjoy several games against Rangers as they pass through.

Yet another Falkirk fan here. I think you guys must be building up a pretty decent picture of your new striker!

Was coming on here to give you a summary of what to expect, but clearly others have had the same idea!

Nothing else I can add, to what's been said already. Farid is a legend, and will be sorely missed. Not just for his goals...

Oh, while I remember... I see there was a wee debate on how to pronounce his name. It's not farid el "al a gooey" as suggested. It's actually "al-a-gwee". Like the French oui "wee" for yes. That's from the man himself. Drove me nuts when the commentators got it wrong. Lol.

Gutted you have our hero from last season, but good luck to him at Brentford. Hang the ball up to the back post and he'll be there. As mentioned before he is brave and can mix it up with the defenders. He won't pull out of a challenge. Best player to wear a Falkirk shirt for years. Finally, he comes with this guarantee - if you don't like him send him back up here please.

The praise for Farid sounds too good to be true. I hope this isn't all a big sting for a Grampian TV revival of Beadles About but using Noel Edmonds in place of the late great Jeremy

The only thing that worries me is that all the glowing references relate to him scoring loads if the ball is lobbed into the box. This isnt how we've played before .Maybe Uwe has plans to change the style but I would doubt it . Its possible that Farid can score within our Barca type playing style maybe ??
Hypnotise the lot of 'em !

Let's keep him rested until the staet of the season.
We all know what happens to our signings in pre season matches.

How many times last season did we swing a cross into the box only to have nobody there to get on the end of it?
I think this signing will remedy that!

Yep but McGinn has McGone so lets hope someone else can serve him some decent crosses.

I understand what your saying about McGinn but regardless of who was crossing the ball there was nobody in the box to convert. Donaldson was probably dragged to the left either crossing the ball or taking a throw in and whoever was in the middle had to deal with three defenders around him. Hopefully this season we would have both Donaldson and Farid in the box to convert.

we have needed a bloke to hang around the box for years, to many of our previous strikers have spent far to long chasing lost causes etc and not enough time goal hanging

Bidwell was our best crosser last season... oh, and Donaldson.

I think there is something in this. Charlie Mac was good in and around the box but wasn't the "handful" that I can see Farid being. Strong, brave and good in the air (not bad with the ball on the ground either by the look) poses many questions of the opposition in their own penalty area and FA-A can be more than someone to just be on the end of crosses if utilised correctly. His attributes can create chances for others in and around the box too - especially if he can take a ball to feet, keep it & lay off a good ball. It is the differing styles of Donaldino and Farid that makes for a potentially intersting partnership. That said, I thought the same of Donaldson and Gary A this time last year!

Not withstanding who else might come in, I can see the spark to ignite a potential CD/FA-A partnership relying on a postitive start by CD either scoring or contributing heavily in someone else scoring. Otherwise his confidence might, once again, suffer.

One thing I am really looking forward to though is the obvious rapport he builds with fans and FA-A being being a real character. I would argue we have lacked some leadership in recent times (less so last year) but we have certainly lacked some characters. Looking forward to plenty of coin kissing!
