nobody is talking-up hayes now. how do you all see him fitting into the scheme of things?

You need to take into consideration he hasn't played regular competitive football for ages. The bloke is an intelligent, quality league 1 striker and when match fit can do a job for us but he ism't a goal machine so won't score 25 goals a season.
I'm glad we got him and trust he'll be an asset
I never get all this fitness stuff. To the best of my knowledge, we didn't drag him screaming from the Globe, pie in one hand and pint in the other. We signed an established professional footballer, from a professional football club, and he has been training with us now for over a month. Regular competitive games would no doubt be of benefit and sharpen him up, but how is he 'unfit'?
Edit: I was responding to comments about Hayes but I see now this is actually Farid's thread - apologies

The search for someone to blame is always successful.
Sick of his posing and gestures to the ealing rd terrace to get behind the team, totally had enough of his glancing going nowhere headers and theatrics, fooling no one
Incredibly harsh. He's looked out of sorts the last couple of games but you cannot write off a player who scored so many goals last season after ten games. He's also suffering through a lack of decent service. Far too many long hopeful balls pumped from the back to him tonight. He's a far better player with ball to feet.
Any idiot can face a crisis. It's the day to day living that wears you down.
Am I wrong to doubt him? He looks half the player Donaldson is but gets a tenth of the criticism.
I intend to live forever. So far, so good.

Worst of the three strikers tonight, playing his way back on to the bench, trouble is so is Donaldson and Hayes!
More of tonight and can see us being the Barca of the lower leagues and playing their 4-6-0 formation on Saturday!
Donaldson reminds me of mccammon, cant hit a barn door!
Not his best game, at least he shows some passion though, more than can be said for some of them out there

Didn't take you long did itNo he didn't play well last night and yes we do need another striker but your assertion that he's been -to use your emotive language- "shit" apart from Crewe is laughable. Wasn't "Shit" when he scored a last minute winner against Colchester or set up Forshaw's winner against Oldham.
He scored a brace against Crewe the winner against Colchester and then what happens Rosler drops the bloke, it's apparent that the managers style of play away from home isn't going to include him much either if he persists with one upfront as he's played both Hayes and Donaldson in that position (Hardly with any success I may add). The one thing that Farid needs is balls into the box and Rosler started with a line up last night which has no width whatsoever and leaves Harry and Fred (who can supply the ammunition on the bench) and then belatedly when he brings them on he takes Farid off and puts the even more ineffective Hayes on.
So in summary he was poor last night but given the right service he will score goals something that Donaldson will not do on a frequent basis at this level as evidenced again last night.
That's right we don't want him to give a toss at all, have no interaction with the home supporters and perhaps whilst you're at it you might want to have a word with his erstwhile strike partner who is usually wandering over some remote corner of the pitch when Farid is winning the majority of headers that come his way![]()
Some of the criticism of Farid is well over the top IMO. He was incredibly poor yesterday but we're not playing to his strengths and I've really no idea how Uwe saw yesterday's formation as one that would produce goals. Farid is an old fashioned number 9 who'll thrive (I hope) on decent ball into the box, and I mean balls delivered from near the byeline by wingers, not these harmless crosses from deep that the backs are being forced to play.
One things for sure, he isn't going to run the channels like he's being asked to do at the moment and getting him to drop deep to help defend whenever the opposition attacks is a ridiculous waste.

We got a fair few crosses into the box at Tranmere from the line without anyone anywhere near them, yesterday like Mr Owl says, we put in aimless crosses from deep with someone who would love to be on the end of Saturday's supply. It's not easy but feck me we make it hard.
Vote BLUNSTONE - maybe out of touch but closer than what we already have.
