Don't see why that should be bad news for him. There'll be bumps, niggles, bad colds and longer-term injuries among the "first choice" defenders. Bidwell is still a big if. LL is certain to have a significant part to play over the coming season, and with KOC and the Incredible Balk also in contention for places in defence, I'd say the team foundations were shaping up pretty well.

I doubt Leon was Uwe's first choice, providing an option against teams with a big lump up front and Luftwaffe tactics. He's constantly stated that we need experience in the defence and TC fits the bill. Let's hope he turns out to be the top cat.

Do we have any decent CBs in the Development squad?

The banter between Craig and his old mate GA + the Ealing Roads contribution should be fun when Crawley come to town.

One of their journos (Toby Porter - @PorterSLP) mentioned it on twitter. Said they'll have a story about the move tomorrow.

It was undisclosed but that doesn't stop a journo digging and/or guessing.

According to a Wall fan elsewhere we offered £2k more as a weekly wage. His other comments mirror this thread. Looks like a decent deal for us.

You don't want to go up Brentford

The funny/strange thing to come out of this is that Tony Craig is probably earning more at Brentford than Karleigh Osborne is earning at Millwall. Also, a centre back pairing of Craig/Osborne is possibly better than either of the centre back pairings at Millwall or here!

Still cannot see Uwe paying that amount as a fee to get his man based on our playing budget, he has allocated the wages of 1 player for the season on around 3K per week for the transfer fee plus what ever wage TC is earning which would have to be at least another 150K!

Agree, they love a rumour in South East London...we apparently paid c£400k for GA!!! and paid him about £10k per week.....or so the rumours said at the time.

Millwall don't pay big salaries so quite conceivable we have got him within our wage structure albeit he is probably near the top end.

Depends how badly we decided we needed or wanted Craig? Lots on here agree we need an experienced leader at the back and before his signing we only have a back up right back Logan, two very raw centre backs in Leon and Harlee, an out of favour Pim and no left back. I think we may have been getting desperate to get the right sort of player in and it appears that UR targeted him last season which means we're getting a player he really wanted which csn only be good news.

If we could just get in a right back, left back, box to box midfielder and two goalscorers maybe our dream of playing in The Championship might be achievable.

I think TC has been bought in as the 'steel' that has been missing from our side for a while. Too many times last season games started to turn on us, and no one was there to put a boot in, boll•ck someone, and drag it back to our side. I think he is going to be a bit slow, and actually not be great on the ball, but if someone from the opposition starts to run things, I expect to see them in row z at the first opportunity!!! (and I'm looking forward to it!!!)

Have no idea about the financial side of this deal, will leave that up to the club, with MB completely on board I have no worries, he is a better business man than most of us put together....so all thats needed to be said is welcome to Tony Craig, lets have a lovely season

Spot on, Preston and Tranmere bullied us at GP last year and it mustn't happen this season.

And with Westley in charge I wouldn't be surprised if PNE set out to bully everyone this year

Maybe its time for legge to move on if he aint going to play, alot of supporters seem to have there first choices before the seasons already started, maybe a fredh move could be good or if you look at it another way competition could also bring the best out in a player. Hoping the latter, he's been a good servant to this club but alot of us wanna say goodbye to him and all of a sudden hes not good enough. He seems the type a player who you'd rather have on your team than against. Hope to see him at gp for few more seasons
