If that is the case, I'd be amazed if it weren't Saunders. Forrester has a lot of promise - and feedback from pre-season looks good - but Saunders was arguably our key man in terms of creativity for much of last season, so deserves a start. Away from home, I think we'd only be likely to use both if it were with a single striker

You are probably right, but I wanted to make the point for Harry. If he misses out he can consider himself most unfortunate, he had a very good game last night.
The search for someone to blame is always successful.

A scary team to come up against - but what a bench!
I like the midfield we have. We have options for all types of midfield pairings/formations etc. I know we currently lack in the striker position, but we know that Weston can cover for the time being, and so could Forrester. But on top of those two, German and Norris can do it too and being fair, I'd probably put Norris on the bench instead of either Dave or Kev... would argue that having 4 midfielders, regardless of having Kev as a RB sub or not, is a bit OTT. Giving the likes of Norris and German both first team experience away from home is ideal.

It will be a bold move and one that I'd really like to see happen, you'd need two very good holding midfielders who can take the game by the scruff of the neck though unless HF can tackle back. I say this as I expect that we'll start with 2 up top until one gets injured, I bloody hope we do anyway.
Far too old for a mid-life crsis

I agree it would be a bold move but Forrester does tackle back, other than his general quality the one thing that has really impressed me is that he works back and isn't afraid to get stuck in. I think he has serious potential and would start with him ahead of Saunders... Wouldn't be against both starting if we have a decent 'core'.

Agree with this. What I've seen of Harry suggests he ain't scared of putting a foot in.

You were scared of talking to him after I made introductions for you at Leipzig airport.

On last nights performances it would be Harry for me but whichever gets the nod knows he will need to perform well to retain the position

He did at Tranny away last year and it worked pretty well, given Harry has got better since then it might be in UR's mind to play them in a straight 4-4-2 as wide players with Douglas and one other in the middle and the strike force of Donaldson and El-Alagui.

General consensus is that Harry has excelled pre season (he ran the game vs Hayes imho) and he needs a chance to show why UR reckons he'll become our most valuable player.

Personally I'd be inclined to pick him first and select the best players to allow him to play his own game. I'd definitely play Jon Douglas and after that I'm not so sure as while I like both Sam S and Jake that would leave us a bit short and lightweight. It may well be that there is rotation depending on the oppo but either way it's a midfield that is capable of good football, need to make sure it also has enough bite and strength to enable us to dominate.

I'd prefer to see KO'C in your Douglas position and push Douglas further up at the expense of Saunders or Forrester, keep it tight, Brentford:

    --------------------- O'Connor ----------------
    Reeves ------------------------------ Douglas
    -------------- Forrester/Saunders------------

We've still got Friday Would be fun if all 3 positions were signed tomorrow and Rosler came out and just said 'told you so'.
